Mark is the greatest Fly Fisherman I have ever met so when I had the chance to do a project on something we enjoy the rst thing that came to mind was Fly Fishing, and I thought who better to interview than Mark Beattie. When I asked Mark what got him into Fly Fishing he said his dad and his grandpa were the main two people who got him into it and that they would go on family trips and vacations to Bull Lake in Wyoming. I asked Mark why he Fly Fishes and his answer was di erent than most people's answers, most people say for the enjoyment of catching the sh. Mark has been Fly Fishing for so long and with such dedication that he says it’s almost a sign of religion to him, that it’s like a church he is a part of with a god that created this amazing thing such as Fly Fishing. I then asked him what his favorite part about Fly Fishing is and he said the disconnect from the rest of the world, you don’t have to worry about checking your phone or being on phone calls because most of the time there is no service so you can’t check your phone even if you wanted to. Some of Mark’s favorite places to Fly Fish are Bull Lake Wyoming, North Flatt Wyoming, and in New Zealand. His favorite type of dry y is a Royal Trude and a Royal Wolf. His favorite style of Fly Fishing is using dry y. I asked Mark what he thought the hardest part of Fly Fishing was and he said patience, people want to just go out and catch a sh right away but sometimes it takes lots of patience. Finally I asked Mark what advice he would give to new Fly Fishermen, and he said master casting not just learn how to cast but master it because once you get that part down it makes the rest of Fly Fishing much easier.
