Pomona’s million dollar man He’s Pomona’s million dollar man and is one in a million according to his colleagues at Pomona Community House, where Brian Lawson retired last year as manager. Over 16 years in the job, Brian successfully attracted $800,000 in grants funding for the organisation, and a further $200,000 for Men’s Shed Pomona. But it is the Lawson Shed – the community meeting and activities centre bearing his name – that is a particular accomplishment that Brian will always remember. “It took me six years to get that going. First it was to cost $400,000 and was to go in front of Community House and then the council said it had to go out back, and in the end we had just $129,000 from Noosa Council and a further $20,000 from the state government, and that was Brian Lawson, former manager at Pomona Community House. it,” Brian said.
