In further acknowledgement of the community determination that practically willed the new shed place into existence, Mayor Abbot officially opened the „Lawson Shed‟ named in honour of Brian Lawson, Honorary Office & Project Manager of the Pomona & District Community House.

Brian battled for 7 years to get the project going, with knock back after knock back by funding bodies. Brian supervised construction and inspired local businesses and tradespeople to donate goods and services that doubled the value of the shed beyond the original grant money of $129,000 from former Noosa Shire Council and $20,000 from QLD Department of Communities.
