Thanks to the volunteers Volunteers run the op shops for free, prepare meals for the aged, give of their time to catalogue historic items at the museum, are members of service clubs, support the arts locally and coach sporting teams, or greet clients at the front counter of Pomona Community House. Volunteers are the backbone of community groups throughout Australia and, in Pomona alone, there are at least 15 organisations that rely on the contribution and support of volunteers. These groups wouldn’t be able to do their amazing work without them. Pomona and the hinterland has the highest incidence of volunteerism in Noosa Shire according to figures compiled by Noosa Council.
