VIVIANNE Dawalibi saw an opportunity to contribute to the local community of Cooroy, and this motivated her investment in buying Cooroy Family Practice in 2010.

She had a vision for the practice, namely to develop the Myall Street Clinic to provide a wide range of health services under one roof.

Today, Cooroy Family Practice has a comprehensive health care team of general practitioners, nurses, a midwife-nurse, a dietician and easy access and referrals to telehealth specialists including paediatrics, child psychiatry, dermatology, gastroenterology, general surgery, rheumatology, respiratory treatment, neurology, geriatrics, infectious disease treatment and much more.

Practice Manager/Managing Director, Vivianne, said that she is genuinely proud of their nursing team, particularly the midwife and the services provided by the team while waiting for their new female doctor to join them.

“The empathy, compassion, capabilities and care that they provide to patients make them the real treasures of the team.”

Vivianne said their midwife has a special interest in pregnancy and women's health including pre-natal and post-natal shared care, as well as checks for newborn. She is qualified to perform cervical screening, sexual health and

STI screening, breastfeeding education and lactation support, contraception advice, as well as Implanon insertion and removal.

“Our nursing team performs all areas of clinical nursing, including wound care, chronic disease management, health assessments of eligible patients, ECG (Electrocardiogram heart health check), Spirometry (lung capacity check), adult and childhood immunisations, IV Infusions and much more.”

Vivianne said she is proud of the administrative support provided by the admin team, in particular, by Sherri.

“She is the backbone of the practice.”

With the support of doctors, nurses, reception and administrative staff, Vivianne has developed an inclusive, accessible, quality medical service at Cooroy Family Practice.

Their new doctor, Dr Pavol Paul Hlincik, is starting on Monday 13 June 2022.
