Fusion Festival - celebrating Cooroy THE 2014 Cooroy Fusion Festival will be held on Saturday 10 May 2014, from 9am to 3pm on Maple Street and the Lower Mill Precinct. The 2014 free one-day festival is inclusive and engaging, offering something for all ages and tastes! The program includes, a free jumping castle for the kids, Tai Chi and Zumba demonstrations, WWII army vehicles, Classic Cars, music ranging from Bagpipes and School Bands, from Choirs to Acoustic sets. Check out what our local talented teens have to offer, with Noosa District High students exhibiting their own documentaries, Claymation and promo films at the library, and the proud Year 9’s showing off their pottery at the Butter Factory. Teens can also get online, visiting the library to create their Sponsors and own online digital game through Scratch 2.0. For the kids there’s an environmentally-themed circus performance of Bazil and Grumble, Kindermusik, and Lego to keep them entertained throughout the day. Kids can get their faces painted and play with some hands-on art activities while you check out the artist markets at the Butter factory The afternoon highlight will be the Acoustic Fusion session by Asa Broomhall and Country singer Neil Duddy in the Cooroy Bendigo Community Bank Entertainment Tent.

Celebrating 25 years with the best show ever THE Cooroora Woodworkers Club has turned 25 this year, and to celebrate this milestone the club is staging the Cooroora Wood & Craft Show 2014 to be the best ever with a great schedule of woodworking demonstrations by nationally recognized masters. The line-up at the Memorial Hall includes cabinetry (Bob Chaplin), scrollsaw work Maureen Bowden and Pam Window), carving (Peter Bradford) and turning (George Pearce, Alan Warner and Dennis Donnelly) while rustic furniture (Dave Putland), rocking horse making (John Warrick), toy making (Robert Gray), pen turning (Graham Eastman) and wood milling (Alex Finlay and the team) can be seen at the Lowermill precinct. Visitors will be able to examine the fine woodwork entries in the competi-

tions and also learn how it is done. Many items will be on sale. Club president John Gygar says that this is a great opportunity to meet club members who are ready to answer your questions and show you their work. Age is no barrier to woodworking. The Cooroora Woodworkers Club has a membership of over 120 made up of both men and women who have found a great deal of satisfaction and achievement in working with wood. Why not ask about joining our club, new members receive a warm welcome. The accumulated knowledge and experience of the club members is vast and help is only an ask away.
