Not my fave

WELL, Spring has sprung once again! The birds are singing, the flowers are blooming and my dependence on antihistamines has hit an all-time high. The ads on TV with allergy sufferers merrily rubbing their faces in litters of baby kittens and bunches of spring annuals sucked me in, so drugged to the eyeballs I threw myself into my Spring cleaning with a vengeance. Unfortunately, after my frenzy with the duster ended, my path of dust-free surfaces was littered with the screwed up remains of about 14 boxes of tissues and slippery with bodily fluids. And I have to say it wasn’t worth it. You see, I have discovered that I have the heart of a neat-freak but the energy of a sloth, so I never really get right into those corners or manage to get my windows smear free. The good thing about being a little bit lazy with your spring cleaning is that there’s no chance of ever becoming a hoarder because half way through the cupboard clean I get bored and throw everything away. This could possibly account for my other pet hate … losing things. It seems I have no trouble laying my hands on a warranty for a blender I bought in 1983 but have never seen the bill I must have received from Go Via for my toll fee so now have a $140 fine stuck to my semi-sparkling fridge. I also never found the tissue before it went through the wash or a special spot for my dog to have its puppies before she gave birth to seven of them on my lounge room rug. So there you have it ... blooms, bills and births ... Not being able to find the warranty for my dust buster - Not my Fave!

But wait!!! There’s a question!! Is Australia depressed??? The media keep telling us we should be distressed. They persist in publishing their pessimistic news, Giving no airing to any optimistic views.

Cooroy-Eumundi Garden Club

They declare we’re in trouble, all confidence is lost, Fear casts a shadow, they shudder at the cost, Panic and chaos, all the markets in turmoil, With grim forecasts, of course, on the future of oil.

THE next meeting of the Club will be held on Monday 10 October at the home of Nigel Terrel and Susan Schulz, 84 Templeton Way (off Valley Drive), Doonan commencing at 9.30 am. Margaret Porritt will talk on ‘Floral Art’. New members are always welcome. For further information please contact the Secretary, John Fenton on 5470 2683 or mobile 0410 485 285.

They see emergency meetings of boards of directors, Gloominess reigns in the financial sectors, (Yet strangely the financial world of Australia, Announce increases in profits, no signs there of failure!!!) This doom and gloom theme is fierce and unending, Undermining confidence, discouraging ordinary spending. Affecting small business, which should be thriving, Instead, it seems, it’s having trouble surviving.

SHOOTERS SUPPLIES

The politicians aren’t helping, with their total negativity, No encouragement, no leadership, no creativity, Slanging matches in the House, on matters of no importance, Feeding their egos, in time-wasting performance.

So I say to the media, and the politicians as well, The confidence story is the one you should tell, We’re not facing disaster, ruin, or a revolution. What we need is leadership, confidence, firm resolution. When I look at Australia, I see a great nation, Blossoming, rich, and of enviable reputation. It has weathered many storms, passed every test, It is progressive, generous, and assuredly blessed. So away with the doomsayers, celebrate the spring, Give a smiling welcome to the warmth it will bring. Having trust, and belief that our nation will thrive, Be happy, and confident, be glad you’re alive.

news Council, business hand-in-hand to drive economic growth

COOROY RAG

SUNSHINE Coast Council has endorsed a new approach to supporting local business and encouraging job creating investment in the region. The new package – Delivering a Natural Advantage to business – has the backing of key business groups including the Sunshine Coast Business Council, the Chambers of Commerce Alliance and council’s own Economic Development Advisory Board. “This package marks a new approach by council and is designed to establish the Sunshine Coast as an ideal place to invest and a region which supports local business,” Mayor Bob Abbot said. “Council’s business investment framework and local business support program will work hand in hand to help local businesses to grow, as well as encouraging appropriate new investment. “This is about strengthening the region’s economy, encouraging jobs for the people who live here and supporting our local businesses to flourish – in what is undoubtedly a pretty difficult economic climate,” Cr Abbot said. Economic Development and Entrepreneurship Portfolio Councillor, Lew Brennan agreed that supporting local business and

encouraging business investment is critical to building resilience into the region’s economy. “We don’t have a mining boom happening here - we are a very real demonstration of the two-speed economy. This is why it is important for council to be stepping up to the plate to help business where we can and do better than other regions when it comes to capturing new investment,” Cr Brennan said. “In doing this, we are establishing a single entry point to council for all new business investors; we will be assigning every one of these their own client manager; and we will be working with the business community to promote regional success stories and what we have to offer. “Furthermore, for major business investment proposals that will bring larger numbers of jobs to the region, we have established a new incentive scheme to make sure we have a better offer than other regions or can retain the existing business here,” Cr Brennan said. Chambers of Commerce Alliance president, Myles McNamara, said the new approach promised greater cohesiveness between business, the chambers and coun-

Fire danger period declared THE Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) has declared a Fire Danger Period resulting in new rules on the lighting of fires. The Fire Danger Period means Queenslanders will not be allowed to light a fire, regardless of the size, without a permit from midnight Sunday 4 September to midnight on Sunday 1 January 2012. It is common practice for QFRS to implement a Fire Danger Period during bushfire season as a step towards preventing fire from escaping and potentially putting lives and property at risk. A Fire Danger Period is not a Fire Ban. It simply means that you may need to receive a Permit to Light Fire for fires where a permit is not usually required, however there are still some types of fires that can be lit without a permit during the Fire Danger Period. I want to light a fire - what do I do? 1. Contact your local Fire Warden to complete an Application for Permit to Light Fire. To find your Fire Warden, visit the Fire Warden Finder on the Rural Fire

cil. “This is a key policy for council which the Coast’s chambers can plug into and will provide greater certainty,” he said. “This will ensure a more seamless relationship between two organisations which are constantly fielding business enquiries from both within and outside the region.” Sunshine Coast Business Council Chair, Jason Law, said he welcomed the renewed focus by council on supporting local businesses and reinvestment in the region. “It is critical for the sustainability of the Sunshine Coast that council and key business groups unite to focus on job creation to support the projected growth of the region, these are important steps towards achieving ‘One Vision, One Voice’ for the Sunshine Coast,” he said. Sunshine Coast Economic Development Advisory Board chair, Greg Livingstone, said the Board has given its unreserved support to the package. “This is good policy at work, is evidenced based, well constructed and comprehensive. Both elements address the needs of existing businesses and potential new entrants, both of whom will play a major role in delivering a stronger Sunshine Coast,” Mr Livingstone said.

You will be granted or denied a Permit depending on the conditions, applicable local laws and your ability to control the fire. Which fires are exempt from requiring a permit during a Fire Danger Period? A fire lit for the purpose of burning the carcass of a beast; A fire lit at a sawmill for the purpose of burning sawdust or other residue resulting from the operation of a sawmill; A fire lit outdoors for the purpose of cooking and warmth, if enclosed in a fireplace so prepared as to prevent the escape of fire or any burning material. SUNSHINE Coast Council wants to hear from both hinterland and coastal residents about what makes our green areas tick, and how to ensure they remain a vibrant economic part of our overall future, as it compiles feedback for its draft Rural Futures Strategy. “One thing we know for sure: Maleny isn’t Montville; Kin Kin isn’t Kenilworth; Cooroy isn’t Conondale; and Beerwah isn’t Brooloo. The hinterland is a patchwork of very individual communities with different characteristics, so one size does not fit all,” Economic Development Portfolio Councillor Lew Brennan said. “Farmers, tree-changers, small and home-based business operators, retirees, artists, musicians and community stalwarts all live there, but that’s not to say they all have the same outlook for its future in an ever-changing world. We want your feedback and invite you to make your views known and read the views of your fellow residents, at http:// haveyoursay.sunshinecoast. qld.gov.au/ ruralfuturesstrategy. What are your views? Let us know by 6 October. A community workshop will be held in Cooroy on Thursday September 29, 7am to 9am at the Cooroy Hotel, Maple Street. & go in the Draw to WIN Bush poet, Hagar, performed at the Kenilworth Poet’s Breakfast on September 24th WHAT do an English pantomime thespian, a backhoe operator, a builder’s labourer, a fish monger and a male nurse have in common? A puzzling question perhaps, but the answer’s deceptively simple; they’ve all been performers at one of the increasingly famous Kenilworth Poets’ Breakfasts. Conondale Range Committee President, local poet and MC Ian Mackay says he’s had people from as far afield as Victoria and Tasmania who make a point of timing their northern travels to include the Breakfast at Kenilworth. “This form of entertainment is about as grass roots as you can get,” Ian explains. “When we started these I took the advice of more experienced poets who reckoned that two hours was probably the limit for a breakfast but over the years our audience has demanded we extend it to almost twice that.” “Kenilworth has become one of the most packed and diverse Breakfasts you’ll find anywhere. We even had the real, genuine Melbourne Cup turn up a couple of years back with a great story by the owner of the legendary Rogan Josh.” Ian explains that the great thing about a breakfast is that you really don’t know what’s going to emerge. “We invite some really great poets but they bounce off each other in quite unpredictable ways and, as well as that, there’s always new faces who emerge, to the delight of all. Chamber meeting THE next Chamber meeting is on Tuesday 11 October at 6pm at the Cooroy Hotel and Cr Vivien Griffin will be attending to discuss the light rail project. Anyone from the community that is interested in hearing about the project and/or providing their input is welcome to attend.

Mayor Bob’s last Cooroy dinner a success THE Cooroy Chamber of Commerce held another successful Dinner with the Mayor this month with 65 people attending to break bread with Bob Abbot. Attendees included local residents, business people and media and the sentiment in the room was one of appreciation and thanks for all of the hard work and dedication that the Mayor had contributed to our town and region. Although Mayor Abbot announced earlier this year that he would not be running for re-election next year, he told the attendees that he wasn’t retiring and he wasn’t sure what the next stage was for him yet but that he didn’t think it would be in the political arena. He spoke glowingly of Cr Lew Brennan’s efforts for the division and the economic development portfolio he is responsible for and commended the community and Chamber on their passion and volunteer efforts for the town. Cooroy Chamber President, Seb Vecchio gave an undertaking that the Chamber would be approaching whoever is elected into the role next year to carry on the long-standing tradition of Dinner with the Mayor.

Empower Employees Fiona Hutchings, Branch Manager, Bendigo Community Bank, Cooroy CREATING a great team is essential to increasing the profitability of your business. The goal is to make yourself redundant by building a business that works without you. Most businesses are reliant on the knowledge and skills of the owner, which can mean moneymaking potential is limited by the time, knowledge and experience they bring to the table. The owner also needs to be present every day to keep the business running, limiting time spent on new business opportunities. The key is to build a

great team who share your skills and can manage the business when you’re away. Train people to share your tasks and responsibilities so you’ll have a backup if you’re sick or need time away. Let key staff build their skills and gain an understanding of your operations so they can multi-task and share responsibilities with you. You may have invaluable management skills or knowledge, which benefits the business. Make the effort to share your knowledge with your key staff. Establish systems to make it easy for knowledge to be

shared. Give others a chance to share the responsibility of running your business. As you train up others and delegate tasks, you are building up your assets, which can only help achieve your goals and boost business profitability. Once you’ve trained key staff, involve them in decision making. Your employees will see your business from a different perspective, and will feel more valued which is great for staff retention. Create bonds between team members and establish goals or beliefs

to keep them focused on your business objectives and their targets. Motivate staff so they want to achieve the business goals and they will respect you and take care of your business while you’re away. Paying competitive salaries and rewarding staff are important to make them feel valued. If you underpay, the loyalty of your lieutenants could be tested. A relatively small rise can be enough to keep someone happy - a good investment when you add up the costs of recruiting, retraining

and lost productivity when an experienced staff member leaves. If you would like to talk more about your business and how we can assist you, please contact me on 5447 7131 or on email at fiona.hutchings@bendigo bank.com.au.

MOPS is starting in Cooroy MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is an international organisation that supports mothers with children aged 0 – 5. MOPS groups have been running successfully in Australia for over twenty years. The aim of MOPS is to come alongside mothers of preschoolers to encourage, equip and develop them to be the best mums possible. There are already two MOPS groups on the Sunshine Coast – one at Maroochydore and one at Beerwah, but this will be the first on the northern end of the coast. Mums from all over the area will

be invited to join. MOPS Cooroy is coordinated by team from across the local churches and will begin in February 2012 at the Hinterland Christian Centre on Marara Street in Cooroy. MOPS gets Mums. At MOPS we understand the unique needs, challenges and joys in this vital season of early mothering. At MOPS every mum is welcomed, accepted and challenged to reach her potential and recognise her influence with her family and her world. A MOPS group is a dynamic, inviting environment where women can come

just as they are to build friendships, be encouraged and gain practical parenting strategies, while children are lovingly cared for in a MOPPETS program. MOPS is different to Playgroup in that MOPS is about women as a woman and mum, and offers an opportunity for their needs to be met. When Mums take care of themselves, they are more capable of taking care of their children. Better mothers make a better world! If you would like to know more about MOPS or be involved in any way please ring the co-ordinator Catlin on 5472 0785.

Wellington’s Way with Member for Nicklin Peter Wellington MP Possible date for State election: I continue to get calls about likely dates for the next State election. Some people have suggested that it should be held at the same time as the Local Government elections in March next year. To remove uncertainty, I asked the Premer if she would hold the election at the same time as the Council elections. The Premier advised that while she would not advise the date for the next election, it would not be at the same time as the Council elections. The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service has declared that until January next year people must get a permit from their local fire warden to light a fire. The only exception, is if the fire you propose to light is for the specific purpose of cooking. While we have had significant rain over recent days, we are in the traditional fire danger period and with strong winds and hot days, it will not take long for a wild fire threat to be very real. If you need further information please contact my office. Horse Riding: Recently I was approached by a number of Horse riding enthusiasts who were concerned that access to horse riding trails in the Booloumba Creek area has been changed from what we thought was agreed to by all stakeholders a number of years ago. The new Minister has agreed to investigate our concerns and offered a meeting about the issue next week. I hope common sense prevails. New Home $10,000 Grant: Last week in State Parliament the Government introduced new legislation to ratify its $10,000 New Home Owner Grant criteria. The grant is available for contracts entered into from 1/8/2011 to 1/1/ 2012, for the purchase or construction of a new home in Queensland, valued at less that $600,000 including land. First home owners can also access other grants and concessions. For more information contact my office. Meet me in Cooroy I will be holding my next Cooroy meeting in the Cooroy RSL boardroom on Thursday, October 6. Anyone who would like to meet with me can organise an appointment by contacting my Nambour office on 5441 6933.

Letters to the editor

Noosa Hinterland

I RECENTLY had the pleasure of seeing the Black Mountain Rural Fire Brigade in action as they did a controlled burn on our property in Belli Creek Road. I have nothing but praise for the entire event. From their arrival right on time, to their courtesy of checking in with me regularly to ensure that I was OK with what was occurring, to their strategy in tackling a tricky wind and slope, I can honestly say that I was highly impressed throughout. To give up a Saturday afternoon to help out a local was impressive enough, but their highly professional approach to every step of the process should leave us all feeling lucky to know that they are there should we need them in a real emergency. Thank you again boys.

According to the sworn affidavit presented to the court hearing by a respected Traffic Engineer last year, there are ‘about 3400 vehicles per day’ on Pomona-Kin Kin Rd. The maximum number of trucks estimated to come from the quarry is 40 per day. This means that current traffic volume is 141/hr and the quarry will add at most, fewer than 4 vehicles/hr. A miniscule 2.5% increase, but we are supposed to believe that this will destroy the hinterland? Lachlan Davis, Kin Kin I HAD the opportunity of attending the farewell to Mayor Bob Abbott in Cooroy last Wednesday. It was indeed a pleasure to have been there. The function was a little like a funeral, tinged with sadness at Bob’s pending retirement, but a celebration and certainly thanks for a great contribution he has made to the area as community leader to Cooroy in particular and the Sunshine Coast in general. Clearly the Chamber of commerce had developed a great working relationship with the Mayor and hopefully that relationship will be maintained with Bob’s replacement. As an aspiring elected representative I certainly appreciated that Bob clearly used the Chamber as a sounding board for community and he trusted their judgment. Given that I am working hard to represent the Nicklin Electorate I would hope to emulate Bob’s example in the future. Councillor Brennan also taught me another aspect of being an elected representative in that before you ask another level of Government to do something, you really make sure that it is not your responsibility. Lew pointed out to me and the meeting that it is wise to know what Roads in Cooroy are a State Government responsibility and what roads are a Council problem. Apparently a State Government representative of 12 year standing did not know. The same State Government representative wanted to confuse the issue even more by suggesting in Parliament that the two elections should be held on the same day. He certainly did not ask the people that run the elections about the logistical problems that this proposal would cause. John Connolly. LNP candidate for Nicklin.

DAVID Wright and Simply Budgets may well be one of Cooroy’s best kept secret! David was a manual arts teacher at Noosa District SHS here in Cooroy back in the early 1990’s when interest rates went as high as 18%. Desperate to find a way to meet his family’s financial commitments David spent hundreds of hours late at night looking for a solution to the age old problem of managing the family budget. What he came up with worked so well he just knew he had to share it with others and so that is what he has been doing ever since. An amazing 27,500 families in over 13 countries around the globe have now used his budgeting system! If you wanted someone to show you how easy it can be to cut through the maze of bills and other expenses in your life and take control of your finances, David is the expert! Over the past 16 years David has become absolutely passionate about helping people succeed with money and during that time he has notched up quite an impressive list of achievements. David’s Simply Budgets software has been featured on A Current Affair and Today Tonight no less than 6 times (for the right reasons). It has also been featured in the Money Magazine, PC Authority and other PC magazines, the Financial Review, major newspapers and various other publications. David has given numerous radio interviews on the topic of money management and addressed many audiences at seminars and ‘CashFlow Clinics’ around Australia.

The Money Magazine has called upon David on numerous occasions to respond to reader’s questions in their ‘Ask the Experts’ column. He has also had quite an impact overseas. In the USA David has been interviewed on Television a number of times, spoken at seminars and given live radio interviews. He has also addressed audiences at seminars in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. All this has been achieved quietly doing business through his web-site www.simply budgets.com.au. You might be wondering why he has had such phenomenal success. David says he has turned budgeting upside down. Instead of bills arriving and you start stressing over trying to find the money, with his system the money arrives and you start asking the question “has this bill arrived yet? The Simply Budgets software allows people to ‘forward plan’ their finances so they have a roadmap showing day by day bank balance targets to aim for 12 months into the future. Because of the way it does this it actually works. In a few minutes you can test out numerous options for your financial future and find the one that suits you best. What annoys David the most is that there is no officially recognised professional who can help you with managing your expenses. If you are really broke you might go to a ‘Life Line’ counsellor or similar, and if you want investment advice or life insurance you might see a financial planner. If you want more debt

you go to a mortgage broker. There is nobody you can go to who specialises in the most crucial piece of the whole money puzzle and that is taking control of your day to day cash flow, and as David points out (and he should know), nobody was taught that at school! David began by going into people’s homes to help them sort out their finances back in 1995. Now he communicates regularly with over 5,000 people on a regular basis through his online newsletter, blog and facebook page w w w. f a c e b o o k . c o m / simplybudgets . David has recently decided to go beyond his internet-based boundaries and begin taking appointments so he can see his clients face to face. He offers a free initial consultation to explain his process and how he helps you take control of your money. David and his wife Judy own the Cooroy Saddlery and his Simply Budgets office is located there. As David points out, nobody wins a Gold

Medal at the Olympics without a coach, a trainer, an agent, a dietician, a sports psychologist and other key support people around them. When it comes to money most people don’t have anyone to guide them and as a result they struggle to achieve their dreams. David is keen to help as many people as possible achieve ‘gold

medal’ success with their personal finances and so far his track record says he is well on the road to achieving that. You can contact David to find out more about what he does by visiting his web-site www.simplybudgets. com.au, by calling 1800 22 1234 or e-mailing him at admin@simply budgets.com\

COOROY RAG with Sergeant Mal Scott AS previously reported in my Cooroy Rag Police Report the Cooroy CBD and surrounding vicinity has experienced a rise in unlawful entry of motor vehicle offences in recent months with the main target vehicles being those left unlocked and with property in clear view of the outside. I am able to advise that a 14 year old Cooroy youth has been apprehended and dealt with by police in regards the majority of these offences. This outcome was brought about by an alert member of the Cooroy Community observing suspicious behaviour around his vehicle with the above mentioned youth being caught red handed with his hand in the cookie jar so to speak. The youth left the scene when confronted but was tracked by the car owner and other family members around Cooroy until the arrival of police who were able to locate the youth and take him into custody. Well done to the well known Cooroy family for there quick actions in notifying police which enabled this mini crime spree to be brought to a end. This incident highlights the role that community members can play in the protection of themselves and there property by always being very aware of their surroundings and to always report suspicious behaviour. It makes complete sense that a couple of police officers can not be everywhere at once however several hundred shop keepers and community members can be and local police are very aware that we need the community support and

assistance in keeping this wonderful place called Cooroy safe. The Cooroy area is experiencing a purple patch at present in regards to minimal crime and a good clear up rates so let’s keep up the good work already done and make Cooroy a hard nut to crack by always locking up and keeping minimal cash and easily stolen property on premises or in vehicles out of sight. Criminals have a criminal network and from the recent offenders I have spoken to after arrest the word is well and truly out there that the Cooroy community is not an easy target and to come to Cooroy and commit offences here carries with it a very real chance of apprehension and arrest. On the traffic related front I can report no serious or fatal traffic accidents for a considerable period of time which is a huge step forward from where we were at only 18 months ago when a serious or fatal accident was occurring most months. I know the 90km/h speed zone is not popular with some locals and truck drivers but the simply and undeniable fact is that the reduction in the speed limit coupled with the increase police enforcement has dramatically reduced the incidence of fatal and serious accidents. Those critical of this strategy should ask themselves the following question, “Is the 5 minutes lost in travel time worth the life of a person?” Further to that now ask yourself the same question only this time ask the question, “Is the 5 minutes lost in travel time worth the life of the

person I hold most precious to me in the whole world?” Not a hard one to answer I’m guessing but I can still hear the critics saying that its all revenue raising and its a convenient argument to enable the police to raise funds for the government. The simply undeniable fact is that speed kills and the 90km/h reduction has easily saved more than one life without a shadow of a doubt. Whose life has it saved? Maybe that person most precious to you!! The latest inductee into the “Bloody Idiot Club” is a 25 year old male driver caught in mobile radar travelling at 162km/h in a 100km/h zone on the Cooroy Noosa Road. Sadly, this type of driving behaviour is not uncommon and is probably the reason why serious and fatal accidents around the Sunshine Coast are still occurring. Cooroy’s rate of apprehending drink driver continues to average about 3 a month which is not good considering that both of our licensed premises in town have courtesy buses. Can I ask drivers who intend having a few drinks to please consider the consequences if they drive as Cooroy Police place a high priority on conducting RBT’s in and around our CBD. The blight on society otherwise known as graffiti has recently raised its ugly head in Cooroy with images and symbols being scrawled over the scout hut and rugby league club so please be vigilant for this behaviour and report any suspicious behaviour to the police station on 54425030 or to crimestoppers on 1800333000.

COOROY RAG Helping Queenslanders for 30 years by Carol Watkins, Deputy Local Controller, Sunshine Coast North

WE now have a new Acting Group Leader for Cooroy S.E.S. Pauline Eglington has been appointed to the role and is well and truly in the swing of it, getting busy with preparations for Christmas in Cooroy, and doing a presentation on the role of the SES in storms, at Noosa Biosphere Day. Our Unit has been busy with a number of community events including the Noosa Show, Biosphere Day, and the Noosa Classic Car Club event as well as helping out at motor vehicle accidents and assisting with the Daniel Morcombe search. We’ve already had a few activations for storm damage, in particular numerous trees down across driveways, and we’re well into preparation for the storm season. Predictions are that Queenslanders face another summer expecting bushfires, cyclones, torrential rain and severe thunderstorms, so we need to brace for threats from multiple fronts. The Bureau of Meteorology deputy director-general Bruce Gunn said recently that at least four cyclones could form in the Coral Sea and may cross the coast. However, he did predict that the weather will not be as severe as last summer, which is certainly a relief, although he believes there is still the chance of floods in any part of the state. In reality there is no room for complacency and everyone needs to prepare their families and homes. As mentioned in an earlier column one recommendation from the initial report from the enquiry into the Disasters of 2011, is that people need to be self sufficient for 72 hours at times of an extreme weather event.

It is not unheard of for us to receive in excess of 500 requests for assistance in one night. With this volume of calls, we cannot get to everyone immediately and have to work through the list in a methodical manner. While we are an emergency response service, we aim to build community resilience through education. The cornerstone of our work is represented by PPRR: Prevention, Preparation, Response and Recovery. So everyone needs to PREVENT as much damage as possible by PREPARING their properties at all times with a few simple precautions, regular maintenance and keeping an emergency pack on hand. Last summer we had repeat calls to a number of flooded properties. Regularly we were unable to help, but having a plumber and drainer in to fix drainage problems prior to the storm season would have cancelled not only our visits, but lots of heartache for the homeowners. RESPONSE is the pointy end of our work, sending out crews to help in any emergencies. RECOVERY is the clean up after the storm has gone through and starting back on the PREVENTION wheel again, getting tradespeople in to repair any damage suffered. For any further information on joining the S.E.S. contact our Group Leaders: for Cooroy, Pauline Eglington 0427 349218; Pomona, Steve Muir, 0428 571213; Tewantin, Murray Caddie, 0410 512535; and for Boreen Point, Ron Williams 0488 795102.

Cooroora United Seniors Presentation WITH over 280 registered players, Cooroora United’s end of Season Presentations were always going to be a huge affair. The juniors were presented with their trophies and Coaches and managers thanked at the Clubhouse on Sunday the 11th of September. The afternoon recognised the efforts of the Small sided Footballers from six years to under elevens who have competed every weekend of the season at local clubs playing in a non competitive competition which is focused more on sportsmanship, teamwork and of course fitness and fun. The next competition age groups were present for the competitive team trophies, best and fairest and most improved awards. Recognition was also given to the club’s highest goal scorers in the junior divisions who were for the junior boys Sam Standish with 20 goals and Allie Harmer, under 12 girls with 16 Goals. Caine Kelly and Tina Standish Senior players of the team to be rewarded for a great season. The “Kinetic Builders” Over 35’s team was well represented and the first to be recognised for their efforts in the 2011 season, making it to the semi finals in their division. Their Best and Fairest player was Shane Bancroft and Roy Helling was voted by his team mates as the Over 35’s Players Player for 2011. Amy Graef was nominated by the coach of the “Bendigo Bank”

Don Gibbons and Robyn Wilson

Premier Reserves women’s team as the Best and Fairest of the season and Tina Standish received the Players Player for the work she put in as the team’s goalie. The “Cooroy Outdoor and Power Equipment” Premier Men’s team and the Reserves were the last to step up and their choices for Best and Fairest and Players Player made it easy for Stewart Manders at Noosa Trophy Centre as in both teams the same player won the two awards. Paul De Vries and Luke Johns, who were both outstanding on the field during the season were presented the awards for the Premier Mens and Reserves Coaches Scott and Horst Rocker. The Senior Men’s and Ladies Player are awarded to current players who have not only excelled on the field but have demonstrated team and club loyalty and were deservedly given to Caine Kelly and Tina Standish. The Club’s ‘Rising Star’ Award went to Nathan Brown, who at his young age excelled in playing Keeper

Scott Rocker and Paul De Vries for the Cooroy Rag Under 17’s and for the Reserve Grade team. She received the Club Person of the year award and also the prestigious Don award. The last trophy was presented to Robyn by Don Gibbons, an original founding member of the Cooroora

United Football Club. As the formal part of the season is now wrapped up, the club is looking forward the off season “ Summer Soccer” Competition played at the club on a Monday night in a mixed round robin soccer competition based on futsal rules, starting on the 17th of October. PARALYSIS ticks are out in force and result in a slow distressing death for hundreds of animals in our immediate area every year. While we live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world the area around the Cooroy, Pomona and Kin Kin areas is officially recognized as the worlds “deadliest” with more venomous creatures per square kilometer than anywhere else in the country. (Australia having the most deadly creatures in the world). Many people consider venomous snakes to be the biggest risk to their pet however the tiny Paralysis tick causes nearly 10 times the amount of deaths than all of the venomous snakes combined. Ticks cause so many problems because by the time an owner realizes their pet is affected by a tick and gets it to us it may already be having life threatening changes that are difficult to spot. Ticks cause paralysis by blocking the electrical signals which travel from the brain to the muscles. This is why animals appear wobbly or drunk when affected by a tick. It is not the muscles of the legs however that we need be worried about .If the animal survives eventually the tick toxin wears off and these muscles will return to function. It is when this paralysis affects the muscles of breathing and swallowing that we see the most devastating effects. Most animals affected by a tick will get significantly worse for the first 12-24 hrs after signs are first seen and in many cases even after treatment. It is however essential that treatment be provided as soon as possible to “mop up” the tick toxin that is already in the blood stream but has yet to have an effect. Any delay will ensure continued progression of paralysis from the legs to the muscles between the ribs decreasing the ability to breathe and in untreated cases usually resulting in death. When the muscles involved in swallowing become affected your pet is at a much greater risk of swallowing vomit or regurgitated material into the lungs causing a fatal pneumonia. So, what signs do I look for which could

indicate my pet is affected by a tick? In the early stages all you may notice is a slight change in bark or meow (a result of paralysis of the muscles of the vocal chords). Regurgitation, gagging or vomiting is another sign (due to the paralysis effect on the muscles of swallowing.. and the nausea that the tick toxin can cause) As paralysis progresses the legs often become affected and animals appear drunk and wobbly often worse in the back legs but progressing forwards until they are unable to stand. Eventually breathing becomes more labored especially when exhaling…..resulting in falling oxygen levels in the blood stream. When animals reach this stage unless they are assisted to breathe by oxygen tubing and in severe cases by total artificial ventilation death is the likely outcome. What do I do if I find a tick on my pet or think it may be affected? 1.First , using a “tick twister” , a pair of tweezers or fingernails grasp the tick as close to the skin as possible (being sure not to squeeze it as you do so) and remove it . (They sometimes hang on tightly!) 2. Remove all sources of food or water as drinking or eating at this stage may cause your pet to choke due to paralysis of the swallowing muscles. 3. Keep your pet as calm as possible by keeping other pets and children away and minimize handling or restraint. 4. Phone Sunshine Coast Vets as soon as possible (54850088) so we can begin treatment and try to prevent further deterioration. What will happen to my pet after arriving at the vet? After arriving at Sunshine Coast Vets at Pomona we admit your pet immediately and begin treatment. Firstly a small dose of sedative to reduce anxiety. This in turn helps breathing and increases oxygen delivery and chance of survival. If your pet is having breathing difficulty we place an oxygen catheter into the nostril and connect your pet directly to our medical oxy-

gen outlets identical to that used in human emergency departments. These are located in every room and in close proximity to every cage. The next step once settled is to get an Intravenous catheter into the vein to allow the administration of tick serum. (In cats this is given directly into the abdomen = less stressful, slower absorption and better survival) It is important this serum is given slowly to avoid anaphylactic or allergic reactions. If your pet has aspirated (breathed in food, water or vomit) we administer an antibiotic injection to reduce the chances of pneumonia developing (This in itself can be fatal). Anti-nausea drugs are then administered to reduce the chance of vomiting (again trying to reduce the chance that your pet swallows anything down the wrong hole and into the lungs). Multiple tick searches are then carried out by every staff member and then tick preventatives are applied to ensure that if a tick is missed it is likely to be killed quickly and therefore not be able to continue to release toxin making paralysis and survival chances worse. After this the key is supportive care and good nursing. Keeping your animal comfortable and dry and settled is of the utmost importance as research has shown that a well settled animal with stress levels kept as low as possible always has a better chance of survival. How do I prevent my animal from getting a tick? Dogs: Advantix (spot on treatment to the back of the neck) every 2 weeks as well as a Preventic Collar and regular daily searching from head to toe. Cats: Frontline applied every 2 weeks and regular daily searching. Remember we are only a phone call away and are always happy to help with any of your animal enquiries. Regards, Buzz, Brooke, Brooke and Lauren @ Sunshine Coast Vets (Located between Pomona News and Lifeline in the main street).

THE Majestic Theatre was full, not a spare seat, for the special 10th year Anniversary Concert held in 2009 for the Pomona based Mountain Music School. Some of the students also went on to perform at ‘Rock Spectacular’ later in the same year. This year’s end year concert is back at the Cooran Hall, on Saturday 22nd October 6pm. Adult entry fee is $10 (all school age youth receive free entry) and it is hoped that some much needed funds can be raised to help cover the costs of replacing worn out musical equipment that the school provides for the students to

use. Over the last 12 years the school has taught hundreds of children and teenagers in the hinterland how to play popular instruments such as guitar, drums and piano etc. Mountain Music School now has two teachers Gray and Sam Liddell - and still operates in Sandy Street, Pomona and also now at the Pomona Community House and Amamoor State School. As usual, the concert will also feature some of the more experienced students who will be performing in rock/pop bands. The school specialises in teaching 60’s/70’s rock/blues/pop/folk which gives students a good foundation and appreciation of the art form from which they can further develop their interest in music. Parents interested in having their children be part of the school are advised to come along to the concert and check out what the 2011 students have achieved or contact Gray on 5485 0323.

They both have been welcomed into the community and with their friendly, helpful service it is easy to see why. While still stocking all the regular supplies Pomona Ag customers have become accustomed to, including all stock feeds and pet food, irrigation, poly tanks, garden needs, hardware etc, Louise has built up the equine side of the business. The shelves are stocked with everything a horse owner could want, saddle cloths, horse rugs, bridles, grooming kits, supplements and more, and if it’s not in the store Louise is more than happy to order it for you. WITH five antique shops in town, Pomona is certainly the Antique Hub of the northern hinterland. The newest shop is ‘Out the Back Antiques & Old Wares’ located at 2C Memorial Avenue, next to the pub and behind Saffron Namaste. “It’s great to be part of a whole cluster of antique shops here in Pomona” said licensee and proprieter, Ed Charman. “It means that it’s worth the trip for people to come to Pomona and look through all the shops.” Out the Back Antiques and Old Wares has also been very popular with people living locally. “As locals ourselves” said Ed “I think we’ve got a good idea about the kind of items that interest people and that they want in their homes”. Ed and Talia Charman moved an old Queenslander house onto land at Cooran, and have spent the past year renovating and settling in to the community. “Antiques have always been part of our lives” said Talia “It’s great to be able to build a business working with things you love. ‘Out

the Back’ is such a wonderful, eclectic mix of antique furniture, old tools, kitchenalia, china and textiles, and of course the old shed is a bit of a Pomona landmark in itself.” Antique enthusiasts can also visit ‘A Touch of the Past’ also in Memorial Avenue, ‘Rockin’ Relics’ in Factory street, ‘C&J Antiques’ in Hill street, and ‘A Juicy Junk Shop’ next to the IGA. A short drive to Cooran will take you to yet another shop at ‘Cooran Collectables and Secondhand’. “If you love history then Pomona has so much to offer” said Talia “from the gorgeous old deco shopfronts, to the Museum and Black & White Cinema . And, of course, a wander around the antique shops”. Out the Back Antiques & Old Wares is also looking to buy locally. If you are looking to downsize, declutter or change your look, Ed and Talia will be happy to come out to you and offer you a great price for your old items. Mind-blowing line-up for Majestic Music Hall

Mic Conway MIC Conway is a singer, actor, musician, song writer, fire eater, magician, tap dancer, juggler and more, and on October 15th he’ll be heading a mindblowing program at The Majestic Music Hall in Pomona. Mic is bringing to Pomona his new duo show – Mic Conway with Robbie Long. Stripped back, irreverent and shameless, Mic and Robbie, the current Australian Flat Pick Guitar Champion, present a circus of comedy, magic and music. As well, Steve Treloar from the The Sheepdogs and Bob Lee from the Chardonnay Sippers have brought together a superbly accomplished lineup of local musicians. The program, to be recorded for broadcast by Noosa Community Radio, will introduce Coast rock veteran Barry Charles in a new role – leading the Barry Charles Ukulele Band. Now that’s extreme! Then there’s string duo Cats in Hats,

John Withers quartet

featuring Sunshine Coast banjo Queen Wendy Holman, and the John Withers Quartet, fresh from success at the Noosa Jazz Festival as The All Strung Out Band. Making sure everyone gets their bob’s worth, the Big Man of the Coast music scene, harmonica-playing Mayor Bob Abbot, will be appearing with bass master Bob Lee in 2 Bob Watch – definitely a bargain act. And throughout the night the musicians of The Sheepdogs and the Chardonnay Sippers will be together as The House Band. Mic Conway was born into a family of vaudeville theatre and opera. In the 1970s, with his brother Jim, Mic founded the Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band. To their surprise it became a cult phenomenon, recording seven records, two of which achieved gold status. Mic also joined the legendary Pram Factory Theatre in Melbourne, creating Soapbox Circus, where he was ringmaster, musician, juggler and acrobat. In 1978 Soapbox became the now world-famous Circus Oz of which Mic was a founding member. Mic has toured Australia, Britain, the US, New Zealand and Asia, written and recorded many albums and worked across the board in theatre, music, cabaret, television and film. His current outfit, Mic Conway’s National Junk Band is a Woodford Folk Festival favourite with a new album Corporate Chook that has been driving launch show audiences to the brink of hilarity and insanity. Mic also works with The Wiggles. He is the voice of Wags the Dog, cowrites songs, appears in their DVDs and Wiggles movie and will be touring their new show. With Robbie Long at the Majestic he’ll be presenting Captain Matchbox and National Junk Band favourites as well as some of his “Circus Oz” antics. The Majestic Music Hall in Pomona’s Majestic Theatre, Saturday October 15th, doors open 7pm, show starts 8pm. Buy tickets by October 13 and save $5. Pre-sales $28, at the door $33. Phone 5485 2330 for info and bookings.

She has settled in the hinterland with her husband and animals and is looking forward to providing quality family care in Cooran. Dr Mark Wright graduated from the University of Queensland in 2003, worked for 2 years at Nambour Hospital, and has settled on the Sunshine Coast with his family after 31 years in the Australian Defence Force. Mark had a number of deployments overseas, including 14 months in Afganistan looking after the Australian soldiers. His work has included trauma and emergency medicine, Occupational and Rehabilitation medicine, Sports and Travel medicine. Dr Hugo Pin graduated from the University of Marseille France in 1988 and has practised as a GP on the Sunshine Coast for five years. He conducts Viaricose Vein Treatment Clinics and also provides Cosmetic Surgery and Skin Treatments. Doctor Pin is passionate about the Vein Clinic that he launched in 2010, 5 years after moving from France to Australia. “I have worked in many different environments, from Emergency Doctor to Ultra-

Dr Hugo Pin sound specialist, and I am now happy to focus on the non-surgical treatment of varicose veins,” he said. As a GP his goal is to make high quality modern treatments affordable and available to everyone suffering from painful varicose veins and unsightly spider veins. “I love to hear patients, after their first visit, tell me they have been able to wear a short dress, after years of hiding their legs” says Dr Pin. Practice Manager, Terry Boyce, says the Cooran Medical Centre is ready to provide the people of Cooran and surrounding areas with quality medical services. “We are signing a long-term lease as a show of our faith in the Cooran district. It is now up to the people to support us, and by doing so, secure local availability of medical services for the future. We look forward to seeing you at the Practice.”

Chase away depression EVERYONE feels sad from time to time, but depression is characterised by prolonged feelings of sadness, dejection and hopelessness. One in five women and one in eight men will experience depression at some point in their lives. If you’ve ever experienced depression, you know how frustrating and, at times, debilitating it can be. It may make you so tired you don’t want to get out of bed or so anxious you can’t calm down. Seeing your doctor should be your first step in dealing with depression. Medication and therapy are common treatments, but exercise is another tool that can bring relief. Both aerobic exercise and strength training have been found to be beneficial for depression. Research suggests that regular exercise increases levels of serotonin in the brain. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter involved in mood, sleep, libido, appetite and other functions, and has been linked to depression. Exercise also increases endorphins, which are chemicals in the brain with mood lifting properties. Exercise also increases your energy and self-esteem; helps you get rid of built-up stress and frustration; helps you sleep better which can often be a problem when you’re depressed and increases your sense of mastery which

helps if you don’t feel in control of your life. The problem is that it often seems impossible to get moving when you feel depressed and you may wonder, why bother. One reason is that you can get some immediate relief and studies have shown that exercise can improve your mood for up to 12 hours. Part of moving past the draining fatigue of depression is to keep your exercise regime simple and doable which will make it easier to get started. Getting some support such as an exercise partner can assist to overcome your inertia. Your partner could be a friend or a professional personal trainer like Lee Smith at Make A Difference Health & Fitness. Lee’s approach is aimed at making exercise enjoyable and achievable without the boot camp mentality that you see on many television shows. Whether it is walking, jogging, bike riding or strength training or boxing in their private gym, personal trainer Lee Smith will work with you to tailor a program that will assist you to get back on the sunny side of life. For more information or to arrange a personal session visit their website at www.madhf.com.au or give them a call on 5442 6179.

BLUE September is about men facing up to cancer. The main aim is to raise awareness about male cancers and to urge men to take steps to help avoid getting cancer. In Australia, the same number of men fall victim to prostate cancer as women do to breast cancer. Every three hours a man will die from prostrate cancer. At Maple Street Surgery we encourage men to be more proactive about taking care of themselves in general. We are pleased to participate in the awareness campaign for the month of September, and welcome men to discuss their health issues anytime. Important lifestyle choices to reduce cancer risk:

HEADACHE SUFFERERS If you suffer from headaches or migraines then this news may be for you. Consider an appointment for a spinal health check at Life Enhancing Chiropractic Discover how this method of spinal care may work for you. Our approach deals with spinal correction, exercise, rehabilitation and nutritional support. Your initial consultation consists of a thorough one on one discussion with Dr Adam Roache (Chiropractor) about you complaint, also a chiropractic, neurological & orthopeadic assessment.

• Quit smoking – lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in Australian men. • Take care in the sun – protect yourself from the harmful effects of UV radiation by applying sunscreen, covering up and limiting the time spent in the sun. • Stay in shape – aim to maintain a healthy body weight. • Move your body – be physically active for at least 30 minutes on most days or every day. • Maintain a healthy diet. Eat for health – choose a varied diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables and limit your intake of red meat. • Avoid alcohol – try alcohol-free days and non-alcoholic drinks. • Check-ups - have regular age-appropriate health check-ups with your doctor. The common types of male cancers are lung, prostate, melanoma and testicular. Detecting cancer in its early stages increases the chances of beating the disease. If you notice anything, go and see your doctor immediately. • Lumps, sores or ulcers that don’t heal

• Coughs that don’t go away or which show blood, or hoarseness that hangs around • A loss in weight that can’t be explained • Moles that have changed shape, size or colour, or bleed, or an inflamed skin sore that hasn’t healed • Blood in a bowel motion • Persistent changes in toilet habits • Urinary problems or changes • Fatigue. These symptoms can also be related to more common, less serious health problems. However, if you notice any unusual changes, or these symptoms persist, please book a visit with your doctor. Drs Arron Whyatt and Eve Bevan have recently joined the practice team. Our doctors welcome new patients. Call for an appointment on 5447 6644. Blue September is in support of Australian Cancer Research Foundation and Bowel Cancer Australia. Visit www.blueseptember.org.au for more information about cancers affecting men.

A SPIKE in demand has left Queensland with just two days’ supply of O and A blood types increasing the need for Cooroy and Pomona residents to roll up their sleeves and give blood. The Blood Service is bringing the collection van to the region and they are urging anyone who can give blood to take an hour out of their day and change someone’s life. Daniel Rowling, Community Relations Officer for the Australian Red Cross Blood Service urged people to give blood and help save lives when the donor van comes to Cooroy and Pomona on the 4th – 6th October. “One in three of us will need blood in our lifetime yet only one in 30 of us actually gives blood,” Daniel said. “We are urging those that live in the area

to think about giving just an hour of your time to roll up your sleeves and give blood. “With every donation helping to save three lives, it is something very special that just about anyone can do for those requiring life saving treatments. “The lives of cancer patients, road trauma victims, unborn babies and people undergoing dialysis all rely on receiving donated blood and blood products. Giving blood only takes an hour of your time and is one of the easiest ways to give back to the community. To donate in Cooroy or Pomona, or at any of the many locations around the Sunshine Coast, contact the Australian Red Cross Blood Service today on 13 14 95 or visit www.donateblood.com.au

dining & entertainment The Imperial: Good food, live music, great ambience and best prices

COOROY RAG

BEFORE creating the new menu at Eumundi’s Imperial Hotel, the kitchen brigade looked back over the hotel’s long tradition of food that has enticed the locals and visitors for almost 50 years. This was as far back as anyone would care to admit to knowing about. Imperial Hotel’s new menu has paid respect to its steep history of Queensland fare and contemporised with modern Australian restaurant quality meals such as slow baked beef Wellington that is wrapped in a golden puff pastry and served on a english spinach Florentine and served with the hotels signature jus. Adding to the menu allure the chefs have incorporated a slight European feel with a pepper steak that is pressed with freshly kibbled black pepper and char grilled the way you like it. This tender Tasmanian beef is then rested and served with Parmeasan cheese, crumbed eggplant , green beans wrapped in bacon and the kitchens soon to be famous signature jus. The other surprise is the Pork schnitzel that is crumbed with the chefs blend of crumbs that is sweet and almost honey coated crumbs. This is served with a cold German style potato salad and a baked granny smith apple filled with dates and macadamia nuts. The mustard cream sauce that it arrives with is sensational. In keeping with tradition the kitchen still serves prime chargrilled steaks ranging in price between $16- $30. Only grass fed and all from Tasmania. With pizza and fabulous salads such as Greek, Caesar and a delightful vegetarian pumpkin, avocado and fetta there is something here for everyone. Homemade pies served with cheesy mash and lamb shanks for the boys this pub is full of surprises.

If you’re looking for live music, then you can’t go past the Imperial Hotel. There’s live music two to three times a week and every Saturday afternoon the Hotel rocks with the sounds of bands like Cut Lunch, 45%, The Pleasure Kings, Rumour Has It and plenty more. Every second Friday night there’s a live band and, of course, their famous jam session is on every Thursday night. The Imperial Hotel has 20 pokes to keep you amused as well as 15 beers on tap, so finding a coldie you like won’t be a problem! There’s also a Jukebox in the bar – that’s right, a jukebox, so if there’s no live music when you go you can make your own noise. The Imperial has the only beer garden in town, great food, and three bottleshops to quench your thirst. At the Imperial Hotel, the drive thru at Eumundi and the Bottleshops in Cooroy (the Cooroy Bottleshops are located at Railway Square and Diamond Street – next to IGA) the emphasis is on quality beer, wine and spirits, great service and best prices. “We have consciously tried to select our wines with you in mind, choosing the best value wines from the best known regions at the best prices,” said ???? “Due to the quantity of wine being produced at the moment, choosing quality produced wines is a bit of a challenge. We’ve taken up the challenge on your behalf with our endeavour to offer you the best wines and value for money that we can find. “Even better if you love a particular wine but can’t find it, we can solve your problem. Our aim is to serve you better!” Next time you’re in Eumundi, call in to the famous Queenslander on the Corner and say hi to the friendly staff – a great time is guaranteed.

Every Wedneday from 3.30 at the Sports Complex is training & also additional sign-ons . The first game is 1st Saturday 1st October 2011. Any inquiries please call Jess 0418 975 939 HOT on the heels of a $1,500 donation in March, Cooroy Community Bank branch of Bendigo Bank has sponsored the installation of some sparkling new signage at Cooroy Gymnastics Club. The building was opened in December 1995, and since then locals of all ages and skill levels have made their way to Cooroy Sports Complex, but the desire has always been there for the club to be clearly identified. Cooroy Gymnastics Club continues to run adult fitness classes, teen fitness classes as well as trampolining for those who wish to purely learn flips. Each term over 300 gymnasts participate in Kindergym and afternoon programs. The club also hosts special needs children from our local schools, allowing them to experience the gymnasium. The manager of Cooroy Community Bank branch of Bendigo Bank, Fiona Hutchings was delighted to officially unveil the signs with Cooroy Gymnastics senior gymnastics coach, Ashleigh Marston last week. “We really appreciate the ongoing support from our Community Bank in Cooroy,” Ms. Marston said. “As our many members know, Cooroy Gym-

nastics is a wonderful family club and it’s great to have had our Cooroy Community Bank’s support in recent years. We’re thrilled to have them support us on the next steps for the club and we can all be proud of the new signs on the exterior of the building and the fantastic one in our reception area. We’re very grateful for the way our Community Bank gives back to our Cooroy community. Our club has given us a lot to be excited about this year”, she added. Ms. Hutchings said she couldn’t agree more. “We’re delighted to assist Cooroy Gymnastics Club wherever we can, and the installation of the new signs that they’ve been wanting for so long was the next project. We’re also proud to announce our sponsorship of the monthly Gymnast of the Month Award winners (boy and girl) who will each receive a $20 bank account at our Cooroy Community Bank branch of Bendigo Bank for their efforts. This award is another way to support the club now and in the years ahead”, Ms. Hutchings said. If you would like to know more about Cooroy Gymnastics Club, call 5442 5800 to find out about class times and a program to suit you or your kids.
