risp, clear mornings and star painted nights, rushing rivers and coniferous dotted peaks. It’s hardly an exaggeration when we say summer in Jackson Hole is like nowhere else on earth. But there’s more to the Tetons than stunning outdoor beauty. Named one of the top 10 most vibrant small arts communities in the nation by the National Center for Arts Research, Jackson Hole is at the intersection of the Old and New West. For live music, step into the Silver Dollar for bluegrass and Western swing dance. Saddle up at the bar next to cowboy clad patrons and enjoy easy conversation. The next day, unwind at the base of the Tetons while worldrenowned classical musicians play at Walk Festival Hall in Teton Village as part of the Grand Teton Music Festival. Then switch gears with sunscreen and flip flops for the valley’s multitude of outdoor concerts, featuring some of the hottest names in reggae, rock, hip-hop, folk and funk. Shows all summer happen during Jackson Hole Live at Snow King Ballpark, Concerts on the Commons in Teton Village, and Music on Main just over Teton Pass in Victor City Park. When it comes to food, plenty of declicious contrasts are on the menu, too. One night you might find yourself sitting under the stars at a farm to table dinner, rubbing elbows with ranch hands and eating locally raised beef. The following eve, sipping a young Bordeaux and noshing on the valley’s most famous rack of lamb care of The Blue Lion. To satiate your creative appetite, there’s no shortage of

Western and wildlife art in Jackson Hole, and this year the iconic Musuem of Wildlife Art celebrates 30 years. Indeed, the wildlife- and nature-inspired art found at the museum holds special value in a place where conservation is a community priority. On display now: Andy Warhol’s “Endangered Species” exhibit. From the wilderness to the streets, there’s also a growing contingent of artist transplants armed with urban and international sensibilities. Shows at The Rose, Asymbol Gallery, Tayloe Piggott, Heather James, the Art Association of Jackson Hole, and Center for the Arts host modern luminaries and innovators all summer long. But as we embrace the future, we love to revel in our roots, and a day at the Jackson Hole Historical Museum, where photos and relics piece together a picture of the past, is just the way to appreciate the valley’s rich Western heritage. So with all that’s happening in the Hole, we reckon it’s important to stay in the know.
