PARKS Looking for some “Vitamin O” (Oxygen)? Look no further than your local park! Whether you’re looking to go hiking on a forested trail or for a spray park to cool the kids down, a Coquitlam Park has what you’re looking for! Use the Park Finder page at coquitlam.ca/parkfinder and search for the amenities you need. Get your dose of ‘vitamin O’ and find a picnic shelter, basketball court or a place to let the dog off-leash. Find the best amenity for you! Want to find the perfect park with the amenities of your choice? Use the City’s Park Finder at coquitlam.ca/parkfinder or pick up a copy of Coquitlam Trail Maps and Guide at one of our facilities.

Giant Hogweed is a Bad Seed We are asking for the community’s help to identify and eliminate Giant hogweed in Coquitlam. Bad Seeds are invasive plants. They spread aggressively, kill native plants and destroy Coquitlam’s beautiful natural habitat. Some, like Giant Hogweed, pose a serious threat to human health. The sap contained in the hairs covering the plant and in the stem is extremely dangerous and can cause severe burns when in contact with skin. Find out more about hogweed and other invasive plants at coquitlam.ca/badseed. To report a Giant Hogweed sighting please use the simple reporting form at coquitlam.ca/hogweed or call 604-927-6300.

Park Spark Looking to enhance the park experience for yourself and others? Many opportunities are available for individuals, groups and businesses looking for a fun and unique way to give back to their community. Examples include constructing little libraries in local parks as well as park hosting opportunities. These activities offer numerous chances for people to get connected with the parks and their surrounding community. We’re looking towards our community members to help us develop ideas and implement activities they believe will be beneficial and improve the overall experience for all park users. The Park Spark program will offer support along the way and help keep ideas on track. If you have an idea on how you would like to become involved in your Coquitlam parks, email us at parkspark@coquitlam.ca! 8
