Sticky Fingers (Ages 2 to 5)
FCAT Camp
Instructor Jean Rao, provide ongoing arts and crafts classes year round. Children will explore different mediums through hands-on activities with parental and instructor assistance. Fall classes start September 4. Cost: $40 per four-week session. Please call gymnasium for specific times and dates.

"Beyond Beauty" Etiquette & Fashion (Ages 5 to 13)
Empowers young ladies to achieve their maximum potential by building confidence in their social skills. Participants will learn the basics of charm, walking with confidence, meet & greet, dining etiquette, manners in public places, poise, fashion and much more. Line Dancing 3-time published choreographer, Kathy Heller, has taught line dancing for 15 years in places such as Broward and Palm Beach County School Districts, and many country western places. Little Wing (Ages 4 to 5) Innovative music classes. We believe that if we want kids to love music, then we must give them loved music to listen to. Ballroom Dancing Former dancing star, choreographer and master teacher Lavonne Lear, will make American and Latin ballroom dances fun and easy to learn. Ongoing six-week sessions rotate between American ballroom dances: fox trot, waltz, and swing; and Latin ballroom dancing: merengue, chacha and tango. Aikido (Ages 13 and up) A non-agressive Japanese Martial Art, self defense oriented for men, women and teenagers. Aikido teaches fluid movements as you perform simple effective techniques. Classes taught by Shihan Michael D'Angona, 5th degree Black Belt with over 20 years experience in the Japanese Martial arts. Okinawan Karate (Ages 5 to 18) Trust your child's self-defense instruction with Scott Ashley, a lawenforcement officer with more than 30 years of teaching experience. Scott is a sixth-degree black belt, a former wold kickboxing champion and is currently on staff at Broward College where he teaches defensive tactics to Police recruits. Sports Camps Simply Soccer Camps (Ages 6 to 12) Simply Soccer stresses the 4 components of soccer. Camp Director Gary Curreri has a USSF National License, a USSF National Youth License, and a Florida Youth Soccer Association State Staff Coach. Full-day participants receive a free T-shirt, certificates and written evaluation of their performance for the week. Campers must bring a soccer ball, swim suit, shin guards, water bottle and lunch. Kreul Basketball Tournament December 19-22, 2013 This will be the 24th annual Kreul Classic, one of the country’s premier boys’ high school basketball tournaments. Spanning four days, the 2013 Kreul will feature some of the nation’s top-rated teams. Along with the best South Florida programs, teams from Coral Springs High, Coral Springs Christian and Coral Springs Charter will have the opportunity to test their skills and make memories while playing in this exceptional national event. There are two routes, Green and Blue, that travel to the Coral Square Mall, several shopping centers, City parks, and Coral Springs Medical Center. These dances are fun events for mentally and physically challenged individuals.
A fun-filled activity day designed for physically and mentally challenged individuals. Activities include both on-site and off-site entertainment. (Ages 10 and up) The times and costs for activities and trips vary, so please check the current itinerary for details. The cost of trips is included in the registration fee. Friday Night Dinner Club The Friday Night Dinner Club is a program designed for adults with physical and mental disabilities to socialize in a restaurant setting. Once a month, the group will go to a different restaurant while under the supervision of Parks and Recreation staff members.
Bowling Space is limited so register early; registration is required. (Ages 10 and up) Wednesdays • 4 - 5:30 p.m. and 5:30 - 7 p.m. Location: Sawgrass Lanes, 8501 N. University Drive Cost: $30 per four-week session, which includes 1½ hours of bowling, shoes and supervision.

Coral Springs Skate Park Rollerbladers and skateboarders use the park to practice their skills on the various ramps, dips and bowls. Contests and professional demonstrations take place on occasion. There are bleachers at the park for spectators and parents to watch the skaters and bladers. To become a skate club member, non-residents must have a Coral Springs non-resident card which is $172 per fiscal year per family. Hours of operation: May vary by season. Monday - Friday (school year) • 3 to 9 p.m., Saturday • 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday • noon to 9 p.m. Additional hours may be available during the summer. Cost: $40 Yearly resident membership (includes insurance) $3 per session (members), $7 per session (non-members) Members can purchase a 10-session pass for $25. Diving The Coral Springs Aquatic Complex welcomes new diving coach Ivan Bondarenko, who has 17 years of extensive coaching experience including lessons for multiple age groups, coaching and mentoring national and international level divers. Ivan was a member of the Kazakhstan National Olympic Team from 1991-2001, a member of the USSR Junior Olympic Team of USSR 1989-1991, and twelve-time Kazakhstan National Champion. Ivan has participated in numerous FINA Diving events, including World Championships, Grand Prix, and World Cups and was Bronze Medalist at the CanAmex Grand Prix.

Coral Springs Swim Club The Coral Springs Swim Club is a year-round competitive swimming program for children and young adults. The Club has consistently ranked in the top three swim clubs in the nation for teaching stroke excellence. Several Olympic and current World Champions train with our elite coaching staff. Advanced Swimming Techniques Swimming is a low-impact, highly aerobic, and full-body exercise that can be used for life. Many swimmers have difficulty with their strokes that can be corrected with proper instruction. This program is designed to make swimmers technically better through one-on-one lessons. Participants will undergo a series of drills and tips to correct body position, pull phases and kick recovery for any stroke desired. Requirements: Must be able to swim 400 yards, fins, goggles, cap (if hair is long). Cost: $30 per half hour
Swim Training Technique A year-round program for children that develops strength, technique and endurance. This also includes advanced swimming skills, stretching, drills and techniques related to competitive swimming. Must pass a pre-requisite test offered every Tuesday with the coach from 7 to 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays & Thursdays • 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost: $50 per month
Coral Springs Fitness Center Get fit and stay fit at the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex Fitness Center. Our gym will meet all of your fitness needs. Our fitness equipment is second to none, including free weights, Body Masters, Hammer Strength and Ground Zero machines. To keep your heart healthy, we have treadmills, both recumbent and upright bikes, Stairmasters and EFX Cross trainers. If that’s not enough, come check out our new look. As always, expect total quality service from the City of Coral Springs staff of personal trainers on site to lend a helping hand. So don’t delay, come check us out today. Cypress Pool Party Packages Party Packages are currently being offered at Cypress Park Pool Water Park. Bring family and friends to celebrate a special occasion under your own private "Funbrella." Adult Stroke Technique
The Fitness Center at the Aquatic Complex is now offering free fitness classes designed for Coral Springs residents age 62 and older. The classes use state-of-the-art equipment that was developed for maximum muscle and bone density regrowth. A personal trainer and geriatric nurse will be teaching each session. The sessions are easy, upbeat and fun! Class times vary. Call for details.
A year-round swim program for adults at Mullins Park Pool that develops strength, technique and endurance. This includes advanced swimming skills, stretching, drills and techniques related to competitive swimming. Must know all four basic swim strokes. Testing is available before class at 6:45 p.m.
Silver Sneakers Program Some seniors have health coverage which qualifies for free fitness center and pool privileges. Enrollment in the program is simple! Bring your health insurance card and Driver’s license.
Masters Swim Program Looking for a change in your regular workout schedule? Why not swim? The Coral Springs Masters and Adult Fitness Swim Program is a year-round adult program designed for swimmers of all abilities. The main focus of the program is to improve stroke, endurance, health and fitness. Triathletes are welcome. Competitions are available but not required. American Red Cross Learn to Swim Parent and Child (Ages 6 months - 3 years) To familiarize young children to the water, water safety skills and prepare them for future swimming courses. It is not designed to teach children to become good swimmers or to survive in the water on their own.
Preschool I (Ages 3 to 5) New to swimming. Skills introduced include: Pool safety, floating, treading, and arm and leg coordination (front crawl).
To register in any class past Level 1, present: Coral Springs Certificate of Participation with class recommended OR Water Skills Test card signed by a Coral Springs Aquatic Services Instructor.
Preschool II (Ages 3 to 5) Skills will include: Continuing Preschool I skills and development of strokes. Students must have passed Preschool 1 or have been water tested by an instructor.

Stroke Development III Course will build on skills learned in Fundamentals. Student must be able to swim a minimum of 25 yards. The dolphin and breaststroke kicks will be introduced to prepare for the butterfly and breaststroke swimming. Will explore swimming in deep water.
Stroke Improvement IV Course develops confidence and builds endurance in strokes learned in the previous classes. Will begin feet first surface dives and learn breaststroke and butterfly strokes.
Stroke Refinement V Course includes further coordination and refinement of all strokes. Skills introduced include: tuck and pike surface dives, long shallow dives, and flip turns.
Skill Proficiency VI To refine strokes so participants swim them with more ease, efficiency, power and smoothness and over greater distances. Level IV, V and VI may be a class with a combination of two levels.
Adult Beginner/Intermediate Class is designed to teach adults and teens 13 and older the fundamentals of swimming. It is for adult swimmers with little experience in the water. Classes are taught to individual’s ability.
The American Red Cross Learn to Swim program has been revised to incorporate 6 levels. The IPAP program for infants, toddlers, and preschool age children remains the same.

Family Fun Day
The Coral Springs Museum of Art offers an array of classes for art lovers of all ages to enjoy. Classes in The Studio are for children ages 6 to 16. Classes include drawing and painting, cartoon, comic book design, ceramic hand building, mosaic, cursive calligraphy, painting with acrylics, stop action animation and “artastic master blaster.” These classes meet after school and on Saturdays. The new teen schedule for ages 13 to 18 also meets after school, evenings and on Saturdays. Classes include Photoshop, fashion design, digital photography and digital arts. Older teens may also register for designing comic books and graphic novels as well as adult classes. The Studio also offers classes for adults, including calligraphy, Photoshop, digital photography, pastel and mosaic. Painting classes encompass watercolor, acrylic, oil and abstract styles. Wheel techniques for clay, drawing and life drawing round out the adult classes. Homeschool art classes are available for students 6 to 12 and ages 13 and up. Classes will be on Fridays, starting in September from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Studio is sponsored in part by Jerry’s Artarama in Deerfield Beach. Member and sibling discounts are available.
Family Fun Day is a great way to explore the museum and create art projects appropriate for kids ages 3 and up. Each month a different artistic subject will be presented and followed by a fun art project to design together. This event is held monthly, starting in September at 3 p.m. for $5 per person. September 7– "Pinwheels" Create artistic pinwheels to display in your garden or attach to your bike. October 26– Special Funday Pumpkin Painting Bring your own pumpkin - limited number will be available for additional fee. November– “Snowflakes! Just like us, no two are alike.” We’ll learn to make snowflakes the old fashioned way and decorate them. December– “Winter Wonderland” We’ll draw inspiration from the museum and create wonderland scenes just like Currier and Ives. January– See you at the BizArt Festival and we’ll “Chalk it Up!” February– “Digital Art – what is it really?” We’ll hear from professionals and learn about art in the future. March– “Pointellism” at the Festival of the Arts. Making art with dots! April–“Trash to Treasure” In honor of Earth Day, we’ll create art using recyclable materials. May–“Sundae on Saturday, Art and Ice Cream”. Enjoy world famous, delicious ice-cream from Kilwins and create icecream related art. June– “Marionettes” The museum exhibition will inspire you to create funny marionettes to impress all your friends! July–“Celebrate USA – American Artists” We’ll learn about some very notable American artists and create works in their manner. August– “What the heck are Shrinky Dinks?” Design a work of art and shrink it!
Chautauqua Series Chautauqua series brings entertainment and culture to the whole community. This season’s presentations include a look at Haitian Dance, Professional Storytelling, Chinese Culture, Digital Art and more. Presentations on Saturdays January through March, 2014. Sawgrass Nature Center The Sawgrass Nature Center & Wildlife Hospital (SNC) is an environmental learning center and wildlife rehabilitation facility located in Sportsplex Park. The Center is open to the public for self-guided tours or any of our special programs. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. The SNC also operates a wildlife rehabilitation facility caring for injured, sick and orphaned wildlife with the hope of releasing them back into the wild.
Environmental Learning Center Programs Camp Wild - Winter Break Camp (Ages 6 to 12) “Camp Wild” campers, ages 6 to 12, enjoy hands-on activities with animals and plants, outdoor exploration, science experiments and arts and crafts. Be Kind To Animals Held at the SNC every Sunday at 11 a.m., guests are introduced to a “featured” native or exotic animal that is not releasable due to permanent injuries or its exotic status. This program may be canceled in inclement weather.
Wild Birthday Parties Celebrate your birthday at the SNC as we offer a unique opportunity to get up close with nature. Programs are fun and educational, in hopes of instilling the message that we all need to be stewards of the earth. Guests also enjoy a guided tour of the SNC exhibit area.
Non-native Pet Amnesty Day On September 21, the SNC and Florida Fish and Wildlife are hosting this event in an effort to keep unwanted exotic pets out of Florida’s native ecosystems. Halloween Haunted House
Friday, October 25 • 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, October 26 • 2 to 7 p.m. Pretty princesses and ghoulish ghosts are all welcome at this year’s family-friendly Halloween Haunted House. Children will wander through a non-scary haunted house that weaves through decorated classrooms and then have a chance to play in bounce houses and slides. The Giving Tree Project
November 26 through December 17 The City is asking the community to donate toys, nonperishable food and cash to The Giving Tree project. Items will be distributed to needy families in the community. The Giving Tree is co-sponsored by City Hall in the Mall, Turtle Creek Wal-Mart and Advanced Cable Communications. Donations will be accepted at City Hall in the Mall, 9239 W. Atlantic Blvd., November 26 through December 17.
