A Night In Tuscany

The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch welcomed chefs and winemakers Rita Salvi and Silvano Cis from Tenuta Casanova Winery, a vineyard and farm in Chianti. Silvano guided 75 members through a traditional Tuscan dinner featuring Casanova products, such as 30-year-old Balsamic Vinegar and Extra Virgin Olive Oil, that paired perfectly with the flavors and aromas of their limited production wines. Their love for their history, traditions and land was undeniable. Not only do Rita and Silvano share their gifts through food and wine, they donate part of their proceeds to the struggling families in Kenya’s bush, specifically in Maraffa, where their assistance is focused on education, “because it is with education and school that you can build the future.”

Spring Fashion Show

Joli Boutique of Boerne cohosted the ladies’ Spring Fashion Show, which spotlighted some of The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch members as well as a few professional models. The ladies “rocked the runway” to upbeat music, and a wonderful lunch from Chef Isaac Cantu and his culinary team was part of the festive event!

Mardi Gras

The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch celebrated Mardi Gras right in the heart of the Hill Country! Festivities kicked off with an evening cart parade sponsored by the CWGA (Cordillera Women’s Golf Association), and wrapped up with hurricanes, po-boys, Ya-Ya’s seafood gumbo and bread pudding in the Clubhouse. Members of all ages came out to cheer on the ladies and, of course, collect bags of candy and beads. Thanks to the CWGA for the creative, flashy golf carts. This parade is sure to be an annual event we all look forward to!

Couples Putting Tournament 45 couples participated in the Couples Putting Tournament in February. It was great to see the combination of new and avid golfers come out to experience a fun and laid-back environment around the game. Everyone enjoyed a couple of cocktails, hit a few putts and then gathered at the Cabana for heavy hors d’oeuvres. The Strouds were crowned the Champions with a score of even-par 36. This event will definitely become a yearly tradition at Cordillera Ranch.

Yappy Hour

What do you call pups on the Twin Sisters Patio? Yappy Hour, of course! Members brought their beloved dogs – from small to tall — all wagging with joy as they met other doggy members. The pooches were treated to dog snacks, tennis balls and ice-cold water while their humans sipped cocktails, soaked up the lovely Texas sun and were entertained all afternoon by their favorite four-legged companions. It was such a popular event that is sure to become a new tradition at the Clubs.
