WHERE MEMORIES ARE MADE Concordia is a place with deep roots. The college has been providing a quality education for more than 130 years. But the connections go far beyond the diploma at the end. The Concordia experience is about building relationships, exploring endless possibilities — and experiencing time-honored traditions. These are the memories that keep Cobbers connected. When you are here, you are invited to be a part of something BIGGER.
HOMECOMING BONFIRE + FIREWORKS
Students kick off Homecoming week with an annual bonfire built like no other (aka HUGE). The night ends with a fireworks display over Jake Christiansen Stadium. 7 | COBBER LIFE
With hundreds of activities and events outside the classroom, it’s hard to pick a favorite, but here are a few highlights. FROSH FROLICS
It’s your time to shine! This annual event showcases the many talents of our freshman class. It’s a night packed with energy, music, and fun.
CORN FEEDS
Corn feeds are hosted by alumni across the nation and even around the globe. Each event is unique, but you will always find delicious corn, conversations, and Cobber community. Did we mention free corn?
COBBER RING
We aren’t kidding when we say these rings are everywhere. The Cobber ring is the second most recognized ring in the country. It connects Cobbers young and old in all areas of the globe when they spot one.
CHRISTMAS CONCERTS
The Concordia Christmas concerts are a 95-year-old tradition and nationally renowned event. Concerts are held on campus and at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis.

“As both a first-year student and then as an RA in the dorms, I’ve appreciated the close-knit community, easy access to campus activities like open mic night and grocery bingo, and the opportunity to build friendships that last a lifetime.”

YOUR PLACE TO EXPLORE Many students fall in love with campus — the beauty and the culture — upon their first visit here. To truly appreciate Concordia’s campus, you need to explore it. Take a walk past Prexy’s Pond, relax in an Adirondack chair near Olin Hill, or people watch from the steps of Old Main. Hear what some of our students love about campus:
“As you climb up the stairs of Old Main, there’s a huge window with a wide ledge for sitting. It’s the perfect hideaway spot to read a book and relax.”
11 | COBBER LIFE
“For a fast photo op, the Skyway is my go-to locale. With glass sides, the space offers tons of natural light and room for group pics.”
“It’s a shame to sit inside when the weather is perfect, and there are many different spots outside of Knutson to camp out with friends and study groups.”
“If you’re looking for a great place to ponder, Prexy’s Pond is perfect. In the fall and spring, it’s the perfect place to meet for lunch, work on homework or take a quick snooze!”

“Campus is lively during Orientation. You can always find an activity to join — like a tote bag decorating event or a casual volleyball game. Be sure to check out Cabaret. It’s fun to see so many talented Cobbers perform in one night. Orientation not only impacted my first year as a Cobber but my whole Concordia experience. As an Orientation Leader, I hope to positively influence students the way my OL and FYT mentor impacted me.”
— MYA LYSNE ’23
“I had such a positive experience during my First-Year Orientation that I later applied to be an Orientation Leader (OL). I feel like I’m able to have genuine conversations with incoming students and can get to know them all personally. My favorite part of Orientation as a new student was the Welcome Show, especially watching the OLs perform their choreographed dance. It was very impressive. Now my favorite part is the beanie toss. Seeing new students officially start their journey at Concordia is a special moment.”
