kim aherne Kim started with CORE in 2015 and is a Senior Recruiter for Pubs, Bars, Restaurants and Head Office roles. Originally from Cork in Ireland, Kim is now in her fourth year in the Recruitment industry!

Stuart Hills Stuart Hills is a highly passionate, driven and dedicated Senior Recruitment Consultant, coming from a hospitality background and with 6 years proven experience at COREcruitment with an excellent track record at building relationships, ensuring the smooth recruitment process is always seen through from start to finish and with experience covering roles in the UK from License trade to leisure. Stuart comes from a high end London restaurant background, starting his career within the Lanesborough hotel, 5* and then moving onward and upward to some great London companies including Harvey Nichols, Hilton and D&D London.

After working in Hospitality in both Restaurants and Bars for four years, Hollie made the jump into recruitment and joined the COREcruitment team where she is our Bars and Venues specialist. Orginially from Brisbane, Australia, Hollie recruits for all management roles within the Bar division and has fantastic knowledge of the industry.

Our team feels it is extremely important to attend as many industry specific events as possible. This is so we can ensure we are up to date with all industry news and developments. Therefore, any FM event hosted- you will see someone from our team there!

COREcruitment is also very active in sponsoring upcoming events within the industry. This includes industry networking drinks, award dinners and fun social events. COREcruitment is also one of the main sponsors of the Building Futures Group Boat Party.

Charity Give Backs COREcruitment has strong values towards helping charities where we can. As a team we have a couple of charities that are close to us and therefore we have decided to support as much as possible. However, we also donate to other charities when and where we can. Our main charities we support are Springbaord, Foodchain, MacMillan and Beyond Autism.

Another one of our popular methods of attracting candidates is organising an open day. Essentially open days are an opportunity for potential members of staff to visit your business at one of your locations, interact with your members of staff to further our understanding of your business.

We also have the ability to use our in house system of psychometric testing. We have found this especially useful as part of the recruitment process to double check that a candidate has the appropriate ability levels to be successful in a role.

Candidate Attraction Referrals

Our network Each consultant at COREcruitment has a niche area that they work in, and within this niche area they are part of many different network groups. Consultants use these network groups to their advantage. As we’ve mentioned, referrals are a big part of our candidate attraction and good people know good people. Consultants make a conscious effort to attend any relevant networking events, so when we say they know the industry inside outthey really do!

Psychometrics

Working within these niche areas also means consultants are constantly working on similar roles. Therefore, consultants know as soon as they receive a vacancy who is available, who would be suitable and who may have a referral. Some of our top candidates are known as ‘passive candidates’ which means they are not actively looking but we always keep an eye out for them and contact them if any suitable roles come up.

We have a target at COREcruitment that 40% of our placed candidates will come via referrals and recommendations – good people tend to know good people. We actively incentivise candidates to put us in touch with their friends / colleagues and contacts to find a higher number of ‘passive job seekers’.

In 2013 COREcruitment was the fastest growing UK recruitment agency on LinkedIn Social Media More recently our focus has been on using social media to attract candidates. We see this as being a key area of growth for us as a business and 12 months ago we appointed an in-house web development and SEO specialist to manage our social networks and on-line presence.
