About this report

This report includes detailed scaled salary information for industry specific full-time professional positions across France.

The scope of the data is national.

The data for each position is broken down in three banding categories:

Band A → Ideal starting salary offer when stepping up into a position. Lowest end of the market’s pay norm.

Minimum experience in the position and still developing relevant skills.

Band B → Salary offer sitting within the 50th percentile; median range of the market. The candidate has an average level of experience and has most of the necessary skills.

Band C → Top end of salary offers for hiring or retaining individuals.

Higher experience, superior skills, finer institutional/business knowledge and exceeding responsibilities. Market’s rarest resource and top talent’s worth according to market key factors and dynamics.

Benefits

Health insurance (Assurance Maladie)

(Annual) paid leave: minimum of 25 working days

Public Holidays - 11 public holidays, but employers are only required to offer one paid holiday per year (Labor Day on May 1st).

Maternity leave: a minimum of 16 weeks (6 weeks before birth, 10 after).

Paternity leave: 28 days of leave, with an additional 7 days if the baby has health complications.

Social Security contributions (employers: 40-45% - Employees 20-25%)

Unemployment benefits (employees who have worked for at least 6 months in the past 24 months are eligible for benefits, which can last up to 24 months)

Retirement (pension plan): pay-as-you-go scheme, funded through social security contributions.

Supplementary pension plans (retraite complémentaire)

Work hours and overtime: the legal workweek in France is 35 hours

Overtime is paid at a premium rate: 25% extra for the first 8 hours of overtime (up to 43 hours per week) and 50% extra for additional hours (in general and sector-specific agreements)

Meal vouchers (tickets restaurant) subsidised by the employer.

Profit-sharing (Participation et intéressement) : some companies offer profitsharing plans, which allow employees to benefit from a share of the company's profits (participation: mandatory for companies with more than 50 employees & intéressement: a voluntary system based on the company's performance)
