Editor's Note
ometimes I sit back and analyze how on earth did I fall into this industry? I went from starting as a radio host to currently publishing a magazine. It should be an interesting story. Yet I will not get into it…but you can read the cover story!. I really would like to express how thankful I am for every opportunity that presented itself in my life the good ones, as well as the bad ones. I’m also grateful for you dear reader for taking this time and allowing me to bring you what I call my little community. In this first issue of the “C” magazine you will get acquainted with every aspect of what CCWC stands for, a result of the amount of effort put into this first issue. This magazine is for every woman who needs some inspiration throughout their day and encouragement to live out to their full potential, real people acheiving real success. Lastly thank you to all who contributed one way or another to this wonderul magazine. What a great team! It’s been a long journey yet it only has begun. In the words of Marianne Williamson “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” I'm not going to lie, I was told this would not be possible, scariest thing to do is embark in a field of unknown territory... but God is great above all!! I believe that the sky is the limit and to what’s to come…watch out world we are about to CONQUER! Corhinn Brunot President The CCWC Network Corp

Kerline
Moreau Jean Baptiste. Looking at her, your first thoughts would be, a woman of talent and fortune with a bright future ahead of her …yet looks can be so deceiving. On the contrary Kerline did not have it easy, her parents were absent during her childhood and adolescence , her father was in and out of her life and she hasn’t seen her mom since the age of 6. Kerline is certainly an overcomer, she has been molested for several years as a child and was even raped before her 18th birthday. She attempted suicide during a very traumatizing situation in her life, one that most of us could not even comprehend, yet God had a different plan for her and spared her life and directed her to a new horizon. Could you tell just by looking at her? Not at all! What we see is a woman of strength, character, courage and dedication. In the year 2008 her fate began to change, Kerline married, birthed 4 beautiful children , 2 of which, twin boys, happen to be from her previous relationship. One can say she was born with the wonderful talent of art, she really began to draw at the age of 9 and instantly fell in love with it. “It was a way to express my emotions that I held deep inside” The feeling became permanent in her teen years “That’s when I knew I wanted to do this for the rest of my life”
F THE QUARTER She plans on taking her art career to the very top. “I have finally found who I am as an artist and fashion designer, and I can’t wait to show the world what's been brewing in this head of mine. This is my destiny. I've never been so sure about anything in my life.” In these past months alone she has participated in numerous prestigious fashion shows, former mayor Shirley Gibson has donned her masterpieces and she now is part of the RAW Artists International Organization.
Nothing is permanent in life, the sorrows, the pain one day will go away and joy will shine on through. In life we must all know that it tells Kerline Moreau Jean Baptiste you “Let’s go” but never tells you Fashion Designer where it’s taking you. Through the Owner of Kel Fashion and Designs hardship, know there is a purpose in every moment, it will all be revealed sooner or later. As a result of this beautiful yet unfinished journey, we at CCWC are moved to honor Kerline Moreau Jean Baptiste aka Kel, for her dedication hard work and tenacity in life, a lesson that all of us can learn from. There is only one rule in this life: NEVER QUIT, NEVER SURRENDER. Here is to many years of success go and CONQUER with pride. Your CCWC family!

As a little girl, her father felt amongst the 450 student class of 2002. that she needed constructive extracurricular activities. Thus, Folklore Jazz and ballet Classes became a regular part of her routine in Haiti. It didn’t stop there, every summer break was filled with dancing, swimming, cooking, typing, photography and Information Technology lessons, talk about a full year. Alourdes Corhinn Brunot is a native of Port Au Prince Haiti, hailing from a little town called Delmas. She was a vibrant little girl with a beautiful childhood.
"Failure was not an option" The "C" Magazine - The CCWC Network Corp 27
I
n 2004 Corhinn participated in an artistic group called Theatre Lakay where she danced, sang and recited poetry…art was still in her heart. As time went on, fate had other plans for her that did not involve pursuing her artistic talents. In 2005 after winning the prestigious leasing award by the state, life certainly threw her a curve ball. Certain situations are just unexplainable, during that year she had lost everything and as a result had to relocate to New York where a friend received her in her home on a temporary basis. She was kind enough to give her a space in her room where she slept on a wooden bunk low enough to be close to the floor. Having to live on $150 a week she made the best out of it. She stayed busy by going to the library every day keeping her mind filled with hopes that the situation will change sooner or later.
D
uring her stay in NY she met a man, that left her scarred emotionally for he had robbed her of her trust. Rape is no laughing matter, no matter what circumstances it happens in. Going out on a date with this man ended in her crying and pleading never to revisit this memory again. In 2006 she regained control of her life and moved back to Maryland. Though the next 2 years weren't peaches and cream she held on and stood firm.
"Meeting this man was probably the best thing that ever happened to me"
I
n 2008 Corhinn moved to Miami Fl. It is there She met Alain Sanon through his brother Alex Sanon, it was probably the best thing that happened to her since sliced bread!!! Alain offered her to be the co-host in his new upcoming show “Matters of Heart” where the audience welcomed her with open ears!! Unfortunately the show did not survive. Despite the show’s demise, her voice was heard by Josue Hercule of RADIO MEGA 1700 am one night, and he could not resist offering Corhinn her own show! Thus “Chit Chat with Corhinn was born…
T
he inspiration for the show came out of a need to have a medium of self expression. Corhinn hoped this would be a way to reach out to the younger generation and inspire them to be who their heart desires and provide positive influences. The show started on January 7th 2010 and welcomed a new co-host Nathan Meilleur, a 19 years young enthusiastic man with big dreams. With Joe controlling the board the 3 of them made such an interesting team, and went on every week since then. As came the struggle to keep the show going on the air, the decision was made to keep it going strictly as an internet broadcast. By means of partnerships with Blog Talk Radio and Facebook, Corhinn was able to reach out to a broader and younger audience. Radio Mega, on the other hand, was limited only to the 40 and up crowd living in the Miami area.“Chit Chat with Corhinn reaches ears beyond US borders and can now be heard in Canada, France, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Indonesia, London, and Haiti just to name a few.”.
"Conquering with Confidence... in anything you do, you must conquer."
T
hrough this platform she was heard by LCStudioS who offered to put her show on the internet via Youtube therefore “Chit Chat with Corhinn Unplugged” immerged. Her goals and dreams did not stop there. At the end of 2010 Corhinn joined the 5 sur 5 TV team. Serving as a coproducer bringing in stronger content and show aesthetics that made the show what it is today. As her popularity grew, so did the desire to create a platform to help women from all walks of life to become succesful. This decision resulted in the founding of the CCWC Women’s Club, a branch of her company The CCWC Network Corp.
The "C" Magazine - The CCWC Network Corp 29
"I'm a kid at heart what can I say"
C
CWC also known as Curves Conquering with Confidence, was founded out of pure coincidence. Being known for the social butterfly she is, people always came to Corhinn seeking referrals, and to their surprise she always had a name to offer. Connecting people was her forte, seeing the need she supplied to the demand, but it wasn’t enough, wanting to make a much bigger impact she founded the CCWC Women’s club. A women's entrepreneurial club that permits professional women to connect, share ideas, work together, and educate themselves in the world of business.
C
orhinn is definitely not a quitter, her dedication and hard work truly pays off. Her infinite desire to serve makes her such an influential personality, putting other people first she sometimes even forgets to take some time for herself. The incessant pleas of her friends encouraging her to take a break often falls on deaf ears. Her desire to hone her craft is insatiable. Her will is unbreakable, and her mission is not over until she achieves the ultimate goal of helping a multitude of people until her resting day.
H owever, Corhinn's mind simply refuses to grow old, according to her, the world is always a better place when you refuse to grow old, Believe it or not, she still watches cartoons and is not afraid to admit it. However, taking responsibility is definitely the adult thing to do.
"My journey has just begun" T
his is only the beginning; the journey has only just begun and can only get better. To remain influential you must learn to serve. To be a leader you must first be the best servant. To govern you must learn to follow. She has started a journey of greatness and will continue on this path until the Good Lord decides to call her in. Stay inspired and influence someone today.

Allow Me to Re Introduce YOURSELF
W hat did you do with your life last week?
You woke up, brushed your teeth, went to work, made lunch, had lunch, and went to a long meeting about a future meeting to discuss a past meeting. You thought about going to the gym, thought about the mundane routine that is your life and what you need to do to break it. You thought about eating healthier, but settled for that slice of pizza instead. You contemplated taking some time out to pursue your hobby, but chose to focus on the bills you need to pay instead. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. As one of my colleagues so eloquently put it “Life can be time consuming and side tracking.” I could not agree with her more, sometimes life can get in the way of us, well, truly living.
I am currently making that work life transition that
happens when you finally graduate and start actually working in the real world. For some time, my schedule consisted of spiritual activities, working, sleeping, eating, and restarting the cycle again. There was no time allotted for outdoor activities or any type of exercise. I felt like a drone going through the motions. I was mimicking life, not living it.
I recently took a break from my ordinary schedule and

hen WAS the last time you just sat on the beach or took a stroll through the park. The transition to spring is a great time to experience the outdoors. Foliage that was not there before is beginning to sprout, the temperatures are getting warmer, and daylight hours are getting longer. How about you lift your head up while you are outside to ACTUALLY see all the nature that surrounds you? What I love about spring time is that witnessing the earth shed off the old for the new motivates me to reevaluate my routines. Questions like what changes can I make to enhance myself spiritually, physically, mentally or emotionally? What GOOD habits do I need to cultivate?

Somewhere between the lush green scenery in front of me, the intracoastal to my right, and the oxygen I was relaxingly taking in, I felt my mind and body UNWIND. W e get bombarded with stressful situations from many aspects of our life, be it work, school, finances, . eeping the same mundane routine can relationships, etc. If our bodies are constantly dealing keep us from releasing hormones that promote with stressful things and we are not giving ourselves a happiness, a sense of well being, and tranquility. healthy outlet to reduce the impact of those hits, we Leading a sedentary lifestyle has been become a ticking time bomb. Take for example high medically linked to chronic diseases such as blood pressure. If remained uncontrolled, having high high blood pressure, diabetes, excessive blood pressure can lead to a stroke or heart attack, cholesterol levels, as wells as disruptions in both of which can be fatal. High cholesterol levels can mental health and sleep. over time lead to the buildup of plaque in blood vessels, which causes a drop in oxygen supply to the tissues that need it. The end result for that can be deadly as well
K
On the other hand if we make an HONEST effort to break our routine, get some oxygen in our systems, our bodies will react in a positive manner. Taking a walk promotes blood flow, which in turns promotes oxygen flow. A brain that receives adequate oxygen functions better to control the rest of our body. This leads to better sleep, decrease in stress levels, and better moods.
D o you have a hobby that you can never really take
on because of your hectic schedule? I recommend giving yourself one hour, once a week to pursue it. Focusing on something other than work allows our brains to switch gears for a change. Allowing for variations in our routine can cause new synapses to fire in our brain. Synapses are specialized cells in a brain that transmit chemical and electrical signals. I do not mean to get all nerdy on you, but in a nutshell these cells are essential for brain function. The more synapses we can turn on the better our brain functions. Having better brain function means we are making better decisions, able to be more creative, have better productivity levels at work, and getting more out of life in general.
C hange does not come about
though if we keep at the same routine all the time. I am still in a transition mode in my life, but in reality life has always been about adapting to variations. When you walk out of your office today, instead of passing that park bench in a hurry, take a moment, have a seat, and wooooosahhhhhhhh.

You've got to be you
There was a day when the world kept going but things were changing for someone, or maybe some people, and on that day a few became aware of this tiny bundle that was you who came into a world that did not prepare you for much, a world that was moving and would keep moving whether you were in it or not. On that day, without your input, you came into being. Somewhere, God or nature, more so through the lustful behaviors and selfishness of some individuals, biology took hold and you were formed. The sun did not stop moving neither did the stars or the birds, but that day would be meaningful if only at least to you. How we wished that was all there was to it, a child born then grew up and had a long, peaceful, happy life until the end. That day was the beginning of all things that will occur around you that will make you the person that you are. Along the way, some thing will click where you will have to start making the decisions as to who you wanted to be, what you wished to take from your environment, the lessons through actions of others and those taught to you to apply for yourself, to adapt to or embody. Mostly, we hope there was a clear time when you took a hold of your life and you decided to map the course of it instead of being led through it by others. That day was indeed the beginning of you, your life, who you are. The embodiment of you, the acceptance will not only define you but will be reflected in all the actions you would partake in as well as the inactive lackadaisical ways you embraced. No matter what, consciously you will create an effect in the world from that day forward. Have you reached maturity? Have you lived that day yet where you take control of you, little 'ol you to mold her, to mold him into someone you would be proud of, someone you would want to be around, someone you can truly say you love? Do you know who you are? Or are you still trying to become you? Who are you? What do you like to do? Where do you come from? What are you about? Who would you stand up for? What sets of values you ascribe to, fight for and die for? Who are you?

Take time, take time to have that meaningful conversation with the person who matters the most, if not to the whole world but to yourself. No, the world did not stop or neither will it stop when you go, but it sure will mean something to at least one, that you were here, you mattered, you did things, changed things so it does matter to know who you are. The beginning of the most lasting romance starts with you. This week, let's focus on the beginning. Let's take time with our past and start the work that is needed in order to connect with the world outside of ourselves.
