We Went Through Some Changes Written by David Garcia
As you can already tell, we’re in English now. We initially started as an “En Español” publication covering primarily Latin music, but over time we started to expand to electronic music as well. In doing so, we started to work more with English-speaking artists, producers and DJs. That, combined with our already popular English blog, CorilloMagazine.Com, led us to decide to make a complete switch to English. Although this switch is permanent, we will continue to work with key Spanish speaking people in the music world, but it will be presented in English.
In addition to the language change, we hope to increase the frequency in which we release new issues of our publication. Due to our small staff, our publications will be shorter than usual, but more frequent. Thank you for reading Corillo Magazine!

CHUCKIEINTERVIEW
What has been your most memorable moment in your music career so far? It’s not so much a career highlight but it’s definitely very memorable. I recently DJ’d at the craziest party I’ve even been to. It was a private party for this billionaire guy. I was the DJ for the entire night but the party was hosted by Jamie Foxx. The guestlist was insane. Q-Tip was there, so was Pharrel Williams and Chris Bown, Ludacris and Busta Ryhmes. In fact, Busta was on stage rapping with Leonardo Di Caprio. Robert De Niro was hanging out there too. There was also a moment where Brittney Spears burst out of this giant birthday cake and started singing. The whole party was just crazy. It was a lot of fun, people were partying really hard. What is your pre-show ritual? I don’t have any rituals as such, I just prefer to relax and keep calm. When it’s a really big show, you can hear the energy levels in the room building up whilst you are backstage. That’s a really cool feeling and one I always enjoy. I’m not one for getting nervous and worrying about it. Something that I always try to do though is have a power nap when I arrive at the hotel on the day of a gig. It’s great to be well rested going into the show, then it’s all about putting that energy back into the performance and having a crazy night. Favorite Meal? You can’t beat sitting in an outside restaurant by the sea in Ibiza with a nice piece of fish, fresh seasoning and vegetables. EDM has exploded world wide in the passed two years, where do you see electronic music in the distant future? Is this it's peaking point or will it continue to grow? It is going to continue to grow and evolve for some time to come. Electronic music is always moving forward, always developing and pushing new frontiers. Young producers and DJ’s have been exposed to more and more music growing up. Things like Facebook, Twitter, Spotify, Soundcloud etc have made music way more accessible than it has ever been, so all these kids are already so clued up and knowledgeable when they start to think about making their own music. That keeps the scene really creative and imaginative. They also have all this amazing technology at their disposal too. The possibilities are endless for the music makers of the future.
I can see fans becoming more involved in the sale of music in the future. I can imagine artists selling their music with the help of their fan base or followers. A fan will be able to make money per track he sells through his own channel. This will also give the relationship between artists and fans a whole new perspective, which would be really interesting in itself. What kind of student would you say you were? Well at school I wasn’t the best student, I used to get into quite a bit of trouble. But I have always worked hard to learn as much a possible about DJ’ing and producing. You are never to old to learn new skills too. Even today I pick things up from others around me and use it myself when I go into the studio. It helps you develop as an artist, which is always essential. When you stop pushing yourself you become boring and outdated. Do you have a "Pet Peeve" (Something that really annoys you) ? I find the need of people in the music industry to label everything into strict genres and sub-genres frustrating. Good music is good music, no matter what genre. You don’t have to define everything! What do you do to pass the time when traveling show to show? What’s the first thing you do when you get home from a long tour? I try to work as much as I can when I’m travelling between gigs. I see being sat on a plane for 8 hours as a good opportunity to work on some music. Even if it is just getting an idea I have had actually down onto the computer, or perfecting a mix etc, it makes a real big difference. If I didn’t maximize my time like this then I wouldn’t get everything done. I never really stop touring, but if I do get a little time off at home, I just like to relax and unwind with my family and friends. I’m a big beach guy, so chilling by the sea is always a big pull for me when I am at home.

It’s not all the same; the EP is classified as “electronic” because it mixes so many sub-genre and genre traits into one sound in a good balance that it can’t be defined as one “genre” or “sub-genre” In some

Progressive House recently has had a tendency to follow the same trends in order to become ‘hits’, and this track isn’t an exception. Why not give it a straight 0 then? Well, the vocals and the drop rescue this single from such a low rating. Great vocals by Taylr Renee; really match the song and the overall feel. Worth The Buy/Download: If you like upbeat Progressive House, you should definitely buy this track. If you’re looking for ‘crowd’ friendly music, then yes get it. This track isn’t for those who are looking for crazy drops or something completely new like fresh new sounds.

Originality: The mix of production styles of Dannic and Sick Individuals melt together pretty well to create an overall great track, but it lacks a little something more that puts it over the top. Sound Quality: I like the quality of the sounds used in this track, especially the percussion. Everything sounds well put together, but there’s a pad used in the track which sounds too “cliche”, but like I said before, the percussion on this track is great which makes it. Worth The Buy/Download: If you like good Reggaeton, like early to late 2000′s Reggaeton, this album is a must have. Simply put, the variety and originality alone is a good enough excuse to fork out money for the album not to mention tracks like “Calenton” featuring Yandel which make the album. You can get it on iTunes starting tomorrow.

Q&A w/DOORLY How'd you get your start in music? I Was a DJ first for about 6 years before I made my first track. I started by accident because a DJ didn’t show up at a club I was working behind the bar at so I jumped on, I was awful but for some reason they gave me the job! Where do you see House music in the future? Exactly how it has always been, The underground will always be there, its like a religion, and then there will be peaks and troughs or popular strands where it becomes really popular. Right now, Deep house is pretty much the biggest genre. Walk us through your production process. I tend to mess around with samples and loops in my DJ sets before I try them in the studio to see how they sound and if they could be used to excite a dance floor, its a great starting point sometimes for inspiration on how it should be used. I tend to work very late through the night when I should be sleeping as I imagine lots of producers do. At my studio in L.A I have a hot tub just outside the door so in times of frustration and writers block nothing beats that and a beer to reset and get things moving again. What are your top 5 producers and tracks at the moment?
