Still Wondering What The Meaning Of “Lovumba” Truely Means?

Washington D.C. - Daddy Yankee is working on his next album titled, “Prestige” The Album will be filled with surprises. “Prestige” contains a variety of participating artists like Prince Royce, with whom Daddy Yankee made the hit single “Ven Conmigo” Along with a variety of featured artists, Daddy Yankee’s upcoming album with also feature various genre’s and fusions of genre’s as well. Daddy Yankee continuing his fusing of genre’s, fused his urban style of Lovumba [Luh-vuhm-ba] singing with a tropical influenced “mambo” beat produced by Musicologo and Menes -- El Cartel’s two main producers “Los De La Naza” -- on a song titled Definition: Lovumba. The song has become immensely popular since it’s release on October 3, A combination of Love 2011 two days after the release of Corillo Magazine’s first issue. Lovumba is a song and the ability to dance similar to Daddy Yankee’s past hit single La Despedida in its tropical influenced “rumba” rhythms but with a completely different message. Daddy Yankee’s Lovumba is oriented around the word the song is named after “Lovumba”, a word created by Daddy Yankee himself. Lovumba is a fusion of two words love and rumba, a term referring to the ability to dance in other words mixing the passion for dance and love. Daddy Yankee continues to revolutionize the Reggaeton genre by implementing different rhythms and styles with the help of his creative producers signed with Daddy Yankee’s label “El Cartel” Musicologo and Menes. Expect Prestige to be in stores in Q4 2011 or early Q1 2012. No exact release date for the album has been given.

Take Care - Launching November 15, 2011 Take Care - Drake By David Garcia Washington D.C. - Drake has been working on his upcoming album titled “Take Care”. The album will be a product of Drake being himself and at his best, according to an interview the artist had after OVO Fest a concert held in Toronto, Canada on July 31st, 2011. Drake’s new album will be mainly produced by his long time friend and producer, Noah Shebib know to the music industry simply as, “40”

producer of such hit songs like Lil Wayne’s “I’m Single” and DJ Khaled’s “I’m On One”. The reason for this action taken by Drake is to make sure his whole album is kept at a “consistent thread” as Toronto native said in an interview with MTV. Drake pointed out a major flaw in his previous album Thank Me Later, it was not consistent it was “song, song, song...” in other words the album seemed more like a compilation than a “story” like Drake would of wanted it to be. This will not be the case with Take Care, according to Drake, even beats sent by other producers like Timbaland and Swizz Beatz, 40 and himself will add elements to the beat to make the song fit into what Drake calls a “story” or consistency. T-Minus, producer of Drake & Nicki Minaj’s song “Make Me Proud”, will also be on Drake’s album. T-Minus, in the

words of Drake, always delivers what Drake wants in a beat “hard hitting and there”. Both Drake and 40 also played with T-Minus’ beat to make it fit into what Drake had envisioned for his album and its success was shown in the release of T-Minus’ track on the album. “Make Me Proud” was a total success amongst both Drake and Nicki Minaj fans.

Drake’s album will have such artists like Lil Wayne with “She Will”, Nicki Minaj with “Make Me Proud”, Rick Ross with “Free Spirit” and the legend Stevie Wonder with his collaboration on “Doing It Wrong”. The album was initially intended to be released in October, when the rapper’s birthday occurs but due to delays in the completion of the album, the launch date was moved back to the current release date November 15th, 2011. Drake also plans having a tour for his album starting off at his first “gigs” and shows like South Illinois University. More information about his tour will be given after the album launch.

Romeo Santos’ La Formula Vol. 1 By David Garcia Washington D.C. - Romeo Santo’s has recently launched his solo album titled “La Formula Vol.1” under the label Sony Music Entertainment US Latin. The half Dominican half Puerto Rican artist has had huge success with his album. “Promise” alone, a single off of the album featuring American Hip Hop and R&B artist Usher, topped the Latin Digital Download charts reaching 49,000 legal purchases in it’s first week according to Nielsen SoundScan. That does not even include the thousands of fans worldwide that downloaded the song off the internet. Although the Ex-Aventura lead singer’s album was leaked prior to the album’s release, “La Formula Vol.1” has continued on it’s successful path. Romeo’s loyal fans have continued buying his work, the

album has an estimated 60,000 copies sold according to Billboard Business even though it was leaked prematurely. “La Formula Vol. 1” continues to create sales but with good reason. The album consists of various songs not just bachata. Romeo also Pop and R&B/Hip Hop style songs on the album. The pop song “Magia Negrea” was produced by Puerto Rican producers Nely “El Arma Secreta” and Tainy, which created a catchy house-type beat for the song. Also Romeo worked with YMCMB artist, Lil’ Wayne on his song “All Aboard” a R&B/Hip Hop track for the album. The song was unexpected but well played by both artists. Overall, Romeo Santos’ album is a success with good music and good numbers on the charts.
