Estimados y estimadas

El mundo de la cultura y de las artes atraviesa por un difícil momento. Así también, los festivales de cine han enfrentado complejos desafíos, luego de más de un año de pandemia. Por este motivo, quisimos mantener nuestro compromiso de acercar producciones de calidad a todos los territorios. Nuevamente SANFIC no se detiene, y se realizará por segunda vez en un formato completamente digital y gratuito. En sus 17 años de vida, SANFIC se ha caracterizado por ser un certamen que da tribuna a importantes figuras del mundo del cine, como Valeria Sarmiento y Graciela Borges en el año 2019, entre otras reconocidas directoras, directores, jurados, actrices y actores tanto nacionales como internacionales. Desde la creación del festival el objetivo ha estado en poder acercar y presentar en Chile producciones audiovisuales de calidad de todo el mundo, además de visibilizar y fomentar la industria cinematográfica nacional.

En esta versión, se mantienen las tradicionales competencias del festival: Internacional, Cine Chileno y Cortometraje Talento Nacional; las cuales se han vuelto una ventana para promover las más recientes producciones de realizadores internacionales y nacionales. Seguimos por segundo año con la sección “Directoras en foco”, un espacio muy importante para visualizar el trabajo realizado por las mujeres cineastas alrededor del mundo. Además de las secciones: “Maestros del Cine”, en la cual este año contamos con renombrados directores como Naomi Kawase, Andrei Konchalovsky, Christian Petzold hasta Agniezka Holland, Denis Coté, Ryusuke Hamagushi, Oskar Roheler y Alexandre Rockwell. En paralelo, tendremos “Visiones del Mundo”, “Función Especial” y retomaremos la sección “Retrospectiva” con la presencia de la destacada directora argentina Ana Katz.

Asimismo, nos entusiasma continuar con la sección SANFIC Educa, que está destinada para un público familiar y cuenta con una programación inclusiva con películas accesibles a personas con discapacidad cognitiva. Cada año nos desafiamos para que el festival siga creciendo y convocando a un público más amplio y diverso. Por eso nos esmeramos en seguir presentando destacadas producciones y actividades didácticas que permiten conversar con importantes figuras del mundo audiovisual, y que estarán disponibles para todas las regiones de nuestro país.

Desde el comienzo de Fundación CorpArtes, como familia nos enfocamos a acercar lo mejor del arte a todo Chile, promoviendo el acceso de la mayor cantidad de personas a destacadas obras de teatro, exposiciones, conciertos y películas tanto nacionales como internacionales, que ofrecen una oportunidad única para adultos, jóvenes, y niños.

Ahora más que nunca, la cultura y las artes cumplen un rol de acompañamiento, en medio de una pandemia y luego de un año de encierro que cambió el rumbo en muchos aspectos. Sabemos que son necesarias para conectarnos con otras personas, para dialogar y ver a través de otras miradas lo que está sucediendo en distintas partes del mundo. Éstas no solo nos ayudan a reflexionar, sino que también aportan a nuestra salud mental y al bienestar de todas y todos. Quisiera agradecer afectuosamente a todas aquellas personas que han hecho posible esta versión número 17. Asimismo, enfatizar su permanente compromiso y dedicación por entregar una programación de películas y actividades que nos permitan gozar, reflexionar y conectarnos con la riqueza que nos da el cine.

Dear all,

The world of the arts and culture has been going through difficult times. Many film festivals have faced complex challenges, as well, after more than a year of the COVID pandemic. With this in mind, we wanted to maintain our commitment to bring quality productions to all regions. We are proud to announce that for another year in a row, SANFIC will be presented in digital format and completely free. In its 17 years since its creation, SANFIC has been characterized as an event that gives tribune to important figures of the film industry, such as Valeria Sarmiento and Graciela Borges in 2019, among other renowned directors, jurors, actresses, and actors, both national and international.

In this version, we have maintained the traditional festival competitions: International, Chilean Cinema, and National Talent short films, which have become a window to promote the most recent productions of international and national filmmakers. We also continue for a second year with the section “Directors in the Spotlight”, a very important space that visualizes the work made by women filmmakers around the world. In the section “Masters of Cinema”, this year we have renowned directors such as Naomi Kawase, Andrei Konchalovsky, Christian Petzold, including Agnieska Holland, Denis Coté, Ryusuke Hamagushi, Oskar Roheler, and Alexander Rockwell. In parallel we will also have “Visions of the World”, “Special Feature” and we will resume the section “Retrospective” with the presence of the outstanding Argentine director Ana Katz.

Additionally, we are excited to continue with SANFIC Educa, a section that is intended for a family audience and has an inclusive program with films accessible to people with cognitive disabilities. Every year we challenge ourselves so that the festival continues to grow and reach a wider and more diverse audience. That is why we strive each year to present outstanding productions and educational activities that allow conversations with important figures of the audiovisual world, and that will be available for all regions of our country.

From the foundation of Fundación CorpArtes, as a family we have focused on bringing the best of the arts to all the country, promoting access to the greatest number of people to outstanding theater performances, exhibitions, concerts, and films both national and international, which offer a unique opportunity for adults, youths and children.

Now more than ever, the arts and culture play an accompanying role during the COVID pandemic and after a year of confinement that changed the course of our lives in many aspects. We know that they are necessary to connect with other people, to talk and listen to other points of view of what is happening in different parts of the world. They not only help us to reflect but also contribute to our mental health and the well-being of every one.

I would like to warmly thank all those who have made this 17th version possible. I would also like to emphasize their permanent commitment and dedication to deliver a program of films and activities that allow us to enjoy, reflect and connect with the richness that cinema grants us.
