• Sign the counseling consent form emailed by our enrollment team
• Speak with participating family members to set mutual goals
• Prepare a private space for your telehealth counseling session
First Session
We’ll start with a counseling evaluation to better understand your goals and priorities, collaborate on a plan for counseling, and to review guidelines. Note that:
• Child clients attend this appointment with their caregivers
• Additional family counseling referrals may be identified based on your family’s needs
Ongoing Sessions
03
In the first few sessions, we’ll focus on building a strong and trusting relationship
Through talk therapy and other therapeutic activities, we’ll work toward achieving your goals. Note that:
• Consistent attendance and participation are essential to treatment progress; your weekly appointment will be the same time as your first appointment
• Depending on your goals and circumstances, counseling may take place for a shorter period (1-5 months), or a longer period (6 months or more)
Counseling Success & Graduation
04
Signs of counseling success include goal achievement, reduced symptoms, increased positive coping, and overall wellness in daily life. Once your goals have been accomplished, your counselor will:
• Review your progress and plan for discharge from therapy services
• Work with you on any additional resources to support you and your family in maintaining your mental health gains
