OUR BEAUTY EXPERTS HAVE THEIR SAY…

Each year, the magazine hosts a very special product award called the “I Recommend” Beauty Awards. We ask our readers, Canada’s Beauty Experts, which products they like to recommend to their clients and why in 20 diferent product categories. What makes these product awards so unique is that we don’t prompt the BAs with any branding or product suggestions. We simply ask them which product they recommend in each category and then tell us why they recommend that product to their customer.

The beauty vendors get very excited when they learn their product has been chosen more than any other product in the category. The brand can promote the winning product for one full year after the win. So be sure to have a look at this year’s winners starting on page 25 in this issue.

And we have already started working on our special 50th Anniversary issue coming out this fall. In the issue, we will be celebrating 50 years of beauty in Canada. This magazine was launched in September 1972 by Ed Bodner and it’s still going strong today, 50 years later. One of the features in the issue will be a 50-year timeline of the major events, product launches and corporate accomplishments since 1972. It will be a walk through time looking at all the beauty industry has accomplished over the years. You will read things like in 1996, L’Oreal purchased Maybelline and in 1997 they bought Ombrelle, busy time for acquisitions! You will also find out when Clé de Peau was launched, when Lise Watier was formed and much more.

And, as of today we will be hosting the Beauty’s Best Awards live and in-person for the first time in three years! We are very excited to be back again at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto. We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary of these awards as well that evening. This show will be a little bittersweet as it will be the last time I will be hosting the event as I plan to retire at the end of this year.
