“Can I read English newspapers on my mobile phone?“

Yes, newspaper and news applications are available to download and install. Several are available including daily Mail online, daily express, Guardian, the Sun, the telegraph, el pais in english, BBC news, Sky news and it V news.

“Do I need to do anything to my Android Smartphone on a regular basis?” doing nothing is not an option.

First, you need to ensure the phone’s software (operating System) is updated. Go to Settings. Select System and then Software Update to check for updates.

Second, you need to ensure all installed apps are up to date and last you need to clean the Storage. dependent on the phone these things might be accessed from different places. they will be under Settings or Google play Store.

System Updates – Go to Settings and search for System Update. the phone will check to see if there is a later version and update the phone if necessary. app Updates – Go to play Store and click on your profile picture. Select “manage apps and device”. You will then see if any apps need to be updated. You may also set your phone to automatically update apps. do this by selecting your profile picture and selecting Settings. on my phone, i then go to autoupdate apps. Select either, over any networks, over Wi-Fi only or don’t auto-update. over time junk builds up which needs to be deleted. there are 2 ways to do this. i only ever choose “Junk” but you can delete app data and much more. You need to be very careful, or you could end up deleting data that you actually might need. e.g., Whatsapp messages.

Go to Settings / Storage. if you don’t have an Sd card, select “Clean Up”. the phone will then scan for junk files. When the scan is completed select “Clean Up” to remove this junk. if you have an Sd Memory Card fitted select internal StoraGe then select “Clean Up”. the phone will then scan the phone. When finished the scan will show various categories of data that you can delete.

For those using an iphone you need to: Keep phone software up to date and keep the apps updated. to clear the phone power it off and back on again. this will clear any junk left from normal use.
