Torrevieja handball Club to celebrate 50th Anniversary

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón; the councilman of Deportes, Diana Box; the president of the C.BM. Mare Nostrum Torrevieja, Pablo Lopez; Francisco Javier Perez “Tavi” and Jose Antonio Carmona, have presented the acts programmed on the occasion of the celebration of 50 Anniversary of the Club Handball Torrevieja, that was founded in the year 1973.

Between the programmed acts an exhibition of photographies and other elements is included in the Exhibition Hall Vista Alegre, dinner of gala, campaigns of promotion in the schools, actions of promotion and workshops of the adapted handball, commemorative matches so much masculine as feminine, family photo of all those people who have played, trained or formed a part of the club from its foundation, to finalize with a great day of conviviality.

In addition to Tavi and Carmona and the president of Club Balonmano Mare Nostrum Torrevieja, Pablo López, the promoters of this commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the club have been Francisco Javier López, Fernando Albaladejo, Juan Carlos Gallego and Alfredo Mercader, among others.

Between the most important achievements in the history of the C. BM. Torrevieja they emphasize two promotions to Liga ASOBAL, in which it was 8 seasons, the organization of two Cups of the King (2002 and 2012), whereas in handball it emphasizes the first place of the Championship of Spain masculine cadet celebrated in Murcia in 1987, as well as the first place also in the Championship of Spain feminine juvenile that was disputed in Torrevieja in 2021.

Finally, the mayor of the city remembered important people from the history of the club who are no longer with us, such as Esteban Rosado, Cecilio Gallego and Antonio Soler.

Eduardo Dolón has emphasized that the C. BM. Torrevieja has been and is an example of good work that continues harvesting successes thanks to a great quarry and to the work that its directors and trainers carry out daily.
