WHY TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH IN MEXICALI Besides a warm, personalized attention and well-equipped hospitals, the city of Mexicali has become a very attractive medical destination to thousands of patients who cross the border in search of care and wellness due to its affordable prices and quality. Because of its lower operating and healthcare costs, prices in surgery and general medical services in Mexico are only a fraction of what they are in the US. In addition, medication prices in Mexico are a lot more affordable even though made by the same companies than those in US, since the price is determined according to the country they’re sold in. It is estimated that the cost of medical care in Mexico generates savings around:

• Up to 50% in surgeries • Up to 80% in consultations • Up to 75% in medications • Up to 70% in dental services WHY MEXICALI HAS BECOME A FAVORITE HEALTH CARE DESTINATION FOR FOREIGNERS • Mexicali offers top quality and professional service for your care and medical attention, and its hospitality is always a warm treat. • Faster medical attention than in the US or Canada • Doctors affiliated with Mexican and American Medical Associations • Most doctors and hospitals accept American medical insurances • First-class staff, with bilingual doctors and personnel in clinics and hospitals • Mexicali is the only border city with a Medical Line expressly built to expedite the return to the US of foreign citizens who take care of their health in the city. Mexicali has excellent hotels, some of them prepared for handicapped and post-surgery and recovery requirements • The cost of healthcare in Mexico is generally 50% or less of what you might have to pay in the United States or Canada

HOW THE MEDICAL LANE WORKS The Medical Lane is an access at the international border crossing, made exclusively for foreigners visiting Mexicali for health services such as hospitals, clinics, doctors, drugstores or laboratories. Health services providers affiliated to the Medical Lane Program can issue a pass to their patients or customers. The medical lane has less waiting time to cross the border back to the US than the general traffic time. In order for a patient to be able to use the Medical lane, a patient must:

as a passport, driver license or U.S. permanent resident card • Present a document that endorses your medical consultation: doctor receipt or prescription • Medical prescription filled, you must present the drugstore receipt for a minimum purchase of $ 400.00 pesos in medication • A maximum of 5 people per vehicle will be able to enter to the Medical Lane

• Show and give the Medical Lane Pass at the line entrance. The pass must be filled out correctly and stamped by Mexicali Convention and Visitors Bureau (COTUCO) and the doctor, hospital, drugstore or laboratory where the patient was treated or bought the medication

• The Medical Lane Pass is valid for 15 days after the date it is given to the patient

• Drive a vehicle with U.S. or foreign plated, or an authorized Mexican vehicle belonging to one of the service providers. • Must present foreign identification MEDICAL LANE MAP USA FILA REGULAR REGULAR LANE MEDICAL LANE SENTRI LANE
