The newly established Core Academy Movement Therapy CIC will target individuals with medical conditions and/or disabilities. We offer movement therapy adhering to guidelines to ensure that individuals with medical conditions can participate in regular exercise. Our vision is that exercise opportunities should be accessible for all. We aim to provide a safe and welcoming community whereby individuals with negative lifestyle habits and/or medical conditions can gain support, participate in exercise, discuss with confdence the steps to help them achieve optimal health and well-being within a respected, professional environment. Who Can Refer? Local health professionals and social prescribers but due to the pandemic we are also looking to allow individuals with medical conditions to self-refer on the understanding health professionals will sign ‘safe to exercise’ if any queries on the initial consultation. Referral conditions include; Older Adult - High Risk Older Adults (over 65’s), Independent Older Adults (over 65’s). Heart Related conditions - Phase IV Cardiac Rehab, High Blood Pressure and High Cholesterol. Plus, Respiratory Related conditions including Asthma, COPD, Long Covid and Joint Related conditions including Joint Replacement, Simple Back Pain, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoporosis. We also support those with Endocrine Related conditions: such as Obesity, Diabetes, Simple Back Pain, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoporosis plus Mental Health: Stress, Anxiety & Depression.
