Many changes have taken place to the Bell Yard since the first photograph was taken around 1918. Planters frame the entrance into the yard, whilst the large entrance into the hotel at the left has been totally reorganised. Two additional dormers can be seen in the range at the rear, and part of the courtyard has been fenced off for outside dining.
