The benefits of both gentle exercise and social interaction are well known, especially for the positive effect on a person’s well-being. These friendly and welcoming classes are aimed with the specific needs of older people in mind and have been designed to improve heart and lung health and circulation, reduce the risk of falls by strengthening muscles, support thinking skills and boost mood and energy level as well as improving social contact and well-being.

All exercises can be modified so that those that are less mobile or in a wheelchair can participate. Sessions are held weekly upstairs at the Hub, formerly the Church of the Nazarene, on Anna Gurney Close, IP24 1TA, on Monday afternoons from 2pm. There is a nearby car park off Croxton John Oliver Aug/Sept/Oct 2022 Ad.qxp_Layout 1 05/0John Oliver Aug/Sept/Oct 2022 Ad.qxp_Layout 1 05/07 Road, which gives easy access to the entrance, either via the steps or a ramp suitable for mobility scooters and wheelchairs.
