ADVERTISING WITHOUT POSTERS IS LIKE FISHING WITHOUT WORMS. – THE HATCH BROTHERS
Founded by brothers Charles and Herbert Hatch, the shop opened in 1879. For much of the twentieth century, Hatch Show Print’s posters served as a leading advertising medium for Southern entertainment with posters rolling out for members of the Grand Ole Opry such as Bill Monroe, Minnie Pearl, and Ernest Tubb, as well as for rock & roll heroes such as Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry. Thousands of posters and billboard-size advertisements were printed for traveling vaudeville and minstrel shows, circuses, and carnivals barnstorming across the country. In 1992, Gaylord Entertainment Company donated Hatch Show Print to the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, where the shop continues to operate, thereby ensuring the preservation of its history with deep connections to country music.
Today, Hatch Show Print is a thriving letterpress poster and design shop in downtown Nashville, with eight full-time designer-printers on staff. As one of America’s oldest working letterpress print shops, Hatch Show Print designs and prints 500 to 600 different posters a year for classic and contemporary artists such as the Beach Boys, Jason Isbell, the Goo Goo Dolls, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, as well as for many national brands.
