TAG confirms new sales director

The Tallis Amos Group has confirmed the recruitment of Mark Smith as its agricultural sales director (east).

The announcement follows recent news regarding TAG’s expansion into Shropshire after the decision by Rea Valley Tractors (RVT) to relinquish the John Deere franchise. TAGs new 40,000 sq ft depot at Allscott near Telford is due to fully open this month.

TAG was formed in 2012 when John Deere dealerships Alexander & Duncan and Chris Tallis Farm Machinery joined forces. With roots going back to 1912, the company has supported farm businesses in the West Midlands for more than 100 years.

Mr Smith previously spent 27 years working for John Deere at

Langar, Nottinghamshire, latter ly as strategic account manager for the UK and Ireland.

TAG brands include Kramer, Pottinger, Sumo, Pichon, Shelbourne Reynolds, Sulky, AW & Bailey Trailers.

TAG managing director Ben Tallis said: “We have plans to double our turnover to £120m within four years.

“This appointment illustrates the ambition of the company and our desire to recruit first class people to help drive this journey.”
