Machair House is a great base for exploring Iona, the wildlife-rich island with white sandy beaches where St Columba founded one of the most important monasteries in Britain, and 74 Carryglen in Crieff, Perthshire, puts within reach amazing places such as Scone Palace, the crowning place of Scottish kings, the famous Gleneagles golf complex and Caithness glass. Sweet Donside Cabins and Sweetheart Cottage, Aberdeenshire, are in the Cairngorms National Park, home to The Lecht Ski Centre.. Nearby attractions include Deeside Activity Park and the Jacobite Poldullie Bridge used in filming Mary Queen of Scots, with Saoirse Ronan in the title role. Other royal connections include, Balmoral Castle, beloved holiday home of our late Queen. The grounds are open free of charge through to December.

Our magical cabins are full of warmth and delight, they have all been hand-made – built with love and happiness. That ethos has been carried through to Sweetheart Cottage as well.
