As a county, it knows how to please, all the way from its dramatic, fun-packed coast to its inland rushing rivers and woodlands.

Quaint seaside villages abound and eating out by the pretty harbours of places such as Appledore – home of Catboat Cottage – is one of the great joys of a Devon holiday. You’ll also find no shortage of cheerful contemporary art and crafts.

Wildlife thrives here, no more so than in the peace and quiet of the green campsite of South Hoggs Hideaway, Holsworthy or among the luxurious treehouses and shepherds’ huts of Dittisham Hideaway near Dartmouth. If you want unwind close to nature, look no further!
