The Relais Henley Boasts The King Charles I Suite
Nothing is more historic than the recent coronation event and PoB Hotels, which is a collection of carefully curated rooms, the finest restaurants and spas across the British Isles, has The Relais Henley as part of its collection of hotels which was visited by King Charles I on his travels. His Royal Crest remains in the aptly named King Charles I Suite.
Located in the historic market town, The Relais Henley is an idyllic waterside retreat. Situated in a restored heritage building that was traditionally a 16th-century coaching inn, the hotel’s interiors have been inspired by the river that runs parallel and local traditions and craftsmanship have been sensitively incorporated into the redesign. The windows frame the view of the Thames, with bold stripes representing traditional rowing club blazers running throughout its rich wool carpets. The hotel features 40 individually designed rooms, with some named after notable guests to have visited the site including King Charles I and Princess Grace of Monaco.
Boasting four different food and beverage concepts, The Relais Henley is home to The Clipper Restaurant offering all-day dining in a sophisticated setting; The Clip Bar and The Deli, as well as The Quarterdeck Bar, an intimate bolthole tucked into the oldest part of the hotel with the patina of a traditional English pub.
The Glow Medispa located close to the hotel in Henley-on-Thames allows guests to unwind and rejuvenate through a variety of relaxing through the doors each month.
The Recoup team and Crisis members have carefully upcycled and restored some spectacular furniture to its former glory, presenting a space with a quintessentially English country pub vibe. Recoup supports the members to gain valuable skills in carpentry, which they can then take with them into the world of work.

The hotel purchases Crisis coffee beans from Volcano Coffee Works, to fuel conference delegates in this specially designed space, with 15% of all Volcano coffee purchases made by the hotel going straight to Crisis. Additionally, QR codes around the space encourage delegates to donate directly to the charity.
• Forget Fresh Towels: Donate a Hot Meal to Someone in Need
Also, as part of its commitment to supporting Crisis, from March 2023 onwards, Horwood House is encouraging hotel guests to opt out of room servicing during their stay of two nights or more. Instead of having their room serviced daily, guests can choose to skip this service and for every night guests opt out, the equivalent donation of one hot meal will be made to the charity (per night of their stay).
