We’re newly engaged and want to purchase a bespoke engagement ring that’s personal to us as a couple - what can you suggest?

They tell us, “There are so many ways to make your ring reflect your personal love story. Engravings are the simplest way to add meaning to your design. It could be a special date, phrase, symbol, word or the coordinates of your favourite romantic location. It’s lovely to have something that only you two understand the meaning of. It can be on the inside or outside of the band as a reminder of your love, every time you see the ring.

Setting small hidden birthstones on the inside of the band is another wonderful way to add that personal touch. Or choose a gemstone that holds meaning in your relationship, to forever show the love and attention that went into designing your bespoke engagement ring.

The main design can reflect something personal, too. It could be a copy of a family ring or include gemstones, for example, a trilogy ring with a central diamond and a birthstone on either side.

To Buckinghamshire-based bespoke jeweller Rosalyn’s Emporium who was recently awarded South Regional winner for The 5th English Wedding Awards 2022. Couples wanting to add a personal touch to their proposal can enjoy the Make Your Own engagement ring workshops afterwards.

Recent additions include tiara-style fitted wedding rings like this stunning rose-gold piece, pictured, made with green sapphires and designs made from enamel such as this white gold grooms’ wedding ring with a blue enamel channel through the centre.

With the rising popularity of two-stone engagement rings following several high-profile celebrity proposals, luxury jewellers Berry’s, with a store in Windsor, share two of their most lusted-after Toi et Moi rings which is a style that coils around the finger with two complementary gemstones. FINISHING TOUCHES

Oxfordshire-based Vintage Adornments has a new collection available for brides this year with another soon to follow that’s set to include more hair vines, Art Deco hairpins from the 1920s and a stunning selection of tiaras. Owner Wendy Hook has just added scatter pins in sets of four, six or eight to the collection that are proving a big hit with brides. These are alongside her already-popular alligator clips and barrettes.
