This book was created in collaboration as part of Honors: Social Inequalities and Introduction to Design in the fall of 2015 at St. Norbert College. It is typeset in Georgia. The illustrations are hand drawings in sharpie with the color added digitally.

Ali Monkey is one smart monkey. She loves taking the school bus to school and learning new things.
Her favorite thing to do in school is read!
One day, Ali’s class took a trip to a different school. Ali’s teacher said that this school was called college. College was much bigger than Ali’s regular school! She was a little nervous because this school was so big, but she was excited to meet some new friends. Ali’s teacher said Ali could have some time to explore.
Ali was hungry, so she decided to go to the cafeteria to try some new food. Ali’s favorite food is spaghetti! While Ali was eating, she met two new monkey friends from her school. These monkeys said their names were Kevin and Maddie. Ali could tell that she, Kevin, and Maddie were going to be great friends!
Ali, Kevin, and Maddie decided to do some exploring. There was so much to see!
First, they went to math class. Ali loves to do math. She loves numbers and puzzles.
Then they went to the music building. Ali played piano, Kevin played guitar, and Maddie sang songs.
They sounded great together!
Next, the group decided to go to art class.
They got all messy playing with the paint and crayons!
Library
Ali and her friends had time to go to one more place. They thought very hard about where they should go. Suddenly, Ali remembered! They still needed to visit the library! After all, Ali’s favorite thing to do in school was read.
The library in college was bigger than any library Ali had ever seen.
She wanted to stay there and read all day!
But soon, it was time for Ali to go back to her regular school. She, Kevin, and Maddie walked back to the school bus.
They were a little sad to be leaving college because there were so many fun things to do, but Ali knew there were a lot of fun things for her to do at her regular school too.
The next day, Ali had fun at her school and knew she would remember her adventures at college for a long time. She couldn’t wait to go back!
