You see all of these people...

... Watching

... Playing...

Do you think they’re happy? A picture of happiness...

... Or is it?

This man lost his job today. A single parent, lost their main source of income, lost their independence, lost their chance to give their son a more comfortable life. Could you smile?

This elderly gentleman, smiling at the thought of giving his wife fresh flowers...

... He visits her every Sunday.

Then there’s this young lady you see here, relaxing in the sun, blocking out the world with her music... ... She’s homeless.

Today she came home to this.

Her mum has a new boyfriend – and he likes drinking. Too much.

And now...

... So does her mum.

So she put on a brave face, lied to her mother, and said she was staying at a friend’s. She won’t return. Not anymore. Not right now.

You may not know everyone

But the people you do know; do you just presume they’re happy because they smile?

Do you ever ask?

Are they genuinely happy?

Do you ever think that you should? Or do you just presume they’ll tell you?

Or are they hiding behind a mask?
