Friday 1st March: 12noon - 11pm & Saturday 2nd March: 12noon til’ Close (subject to beer availability)
Souvenir Programme & Tasting Notes
Welcome to the fifth Horsforth Beer and Cider Festival! There’s something for everyone; over 60 draught beers and 20 ciders, plus bottled beers and the odd glass of wine; home made food in the café; and live entertainment on the main stage. Organised by St Margaret’s Church, the festival started in 2009 to help raise £400,000 to build a Parish Centre. That building is now in use by a wide range of church and community organisations catering for everyone from babies, children and their parents through to retired people. The festival is now an annual event and has raised over £40,000 to date. Profits from this year’s festival will help to complete a £120,000 programme of work to replace the church’s antiquated heating system, and carry out repairs to the roof and tower. We are grateful for the support of the many local companies, organisations and individuals who sponsor us, and the 100 plus volunteers who work here over the two days. We also thank you for coming! For your delight there are beers from 45 different breweries across Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man, and 18 different English counties, together with the 22 different beers from local breweries. If beer is not your thing, visit the cellar bar where you’ll find ciders, bottled beers and wine. And there is more good news! Discounts obtained from drinks’ suppliers are being passed on in lower prices to you our customers, with thanks for your support over the last four years. So this year it is “Four for a Fiver” – four drinks of beer for £5. (Surcharges apply to some ciders) Enjoy yourself today! We’ll be back again next year – on 7th and 8th March 2014 – and hope you’ll be too.
