Bob’s Bit Last month was a busy time for residents with many getting involved in preparations for ‘Horsforth in bloom’ and a vast array of summer activities happening around the town. These are the special and unique things that make Horsforth such a good place to live. Special thanks go out to everyone involved. Bins I was contacted by a member of the ‘Horsforth in Bloom’ team (see readers’ letters) who wants to encourage everyone to do their bit and keep the area free from litter. He has asked why the council has failed to supply sufficient large litter bins around the town. In particular he was concerned about the Hall Park and outside local Public Houses.

I will be compiling a list for our Councillors so please get in touch with me if you know of any neglected areas. Inconsiderate Parking Following on from last months article on illegal and inconsiderate parking across the Town, I have received many examples of vehicles abandoned on public footpaths. The prize has to go to the drivers of the two Leeds City Council vans that were seen blocking the footpath opposite a bus stop on single yellow lines by a traffic island! (see photo)

Judgment Day for Horsforth
Horsforth annual litter pick volunteers
The volunteers certainly made a difference. Organiser Gerry Ingham told us “everyone can make a difference to the Township, every day of the week, by picking up litter and using the litter bins or taking their rubbish back home with them”.
Hope in the Park 2011 Horsforth Churches together ran the annual ‘Hope in the Park’ event on Sunday 3rd July. The town’s churches descended on Hall Park from 1:30pm onwards and ran a host of activities for families and the people of Horsforth.
Judges from Yorkshire in Bloom visited Horsforth in July and the Horsforth in Bloom group now await the results, which will be announced on September 20th. The organisers would like to thank everyone who helped and supported them in the run up to the judging by way of litter picking and tending their gardens. A big thank you goes to the growing number of businesses in Horsforth who put on flower displays. To those businesses who entered the Leeds in Bloom Business Awards, the judging of which has now taken place, best wishes for the results that will also be announced in September. Horsfordians can still help the group, and plan for 2012, by attending their meetings on the first Saturday of the Month at 10am at Horsforth Museum.

BT Broadband in the Cookridge Area
I recently met with the BT Partnership Director to try and persuade BT to bring forward their investment in the Adel Te l e p h o n e Exchange to enable residents in Cookridge to benefit from enhanced Broadband facilities as (depending on their current provider) there are variable speeds at which downloads are possible. I also asked Leeds City Council to apply through the BDUK (Broadband Delivery UK) fund to enable this to be prioritised.
Bus Shelter, Otley Old Road
Residents have recently asked me if a bus shelter could be installed at the bus stop serving the new GP’s surgery, in the direction of Cookridge. Set out below is the response from Metro: “We do have some funding via the new health centre build to provide a new shelter and real time information on the other side of the road. This is a busier site as it is inbound to Leeds centre and the existing shelter cannot be adapted to have real time information provided. We have recommended that the

shelter to be removed is re sited to a site with only a bus stop pole/ old wooden bench. Clear Channel who owns this shelter is to apply for planning consent to re site the shelter. We also need around 5 metres length x 2 metre width of the grass verge to site the shelter.” In effect, they are going to take the shelter on the opposite side of the road, i.e. inbound to Leeds, and place it beside the bus stop on the surgery side where the bench currently is. Richard Raftray and Gary Kaye of the NUT spoke about the union’s opposition to the Government’s academy programme. Amongst the criticisms were the lack of accountability to the local community, the fear of creeping privatisation in the education service and the uncertainty of future funding for academies. An open question and answers session followed where
apprehensive members of the local community voiced. The overwhelming majority of those present expressed a concern that the school had not had a full and adequate public consultation period, particularly when it emerged that the school’s consultation meeting had been attended by only 6 parents. The meeting concluded in a broad agreement that HAC would request that the school re-open the public consultation into the move to academy status and make every effort to engage the whole community in the process.

Academy Debate for Horsforth
Horsforth School’s proposal to become an academy was called into question at a recent public meeting. The meeting, called by Horsforth Against the Cuts (HAC) attracted over 40 Horsforth residents.
The children had learned out about how soldiers cook and eat when out in the field and enjoyed a delicious meal of sausage and beans cooked on Hexi Blocks. The children also had a chance to get their faces painted with camouflage cream, get kitted up in Bergens and webbing and then complete an obstacle course. The visit was finished off with lots of marching and singing in ‘ranks’ around the playground. ‘The day the soldiers came’ will long be remembered by all and the children will be mindful of the important role of our serving forces.

STAR LETTER £25 Give us a call to claim Dear Covered I read the letter from “Baffled resident of Victoria Mount” in edition 5 and felt I just had to write in. My fiancé and I have been living on Victoria Mount for 2 years now and it is a wonderful neighbourhood. Far from being plagued by the noise of aircraft and “monstrous” houses, it is one of the quietest and most pleasant places to live, in the vicinity of the river, canal, fields and woodlands. There is little traffic, no parking issues, and friendly neighbours. We have recently been excited to find that, in addition to squirrels, our garden now seems to be home to a pair of hedgehogs, who are spending the summer evenings exploring our rockery while we watch in delight. It is a shame if people can only find things to complain about when they are fortunate enough to live in such a lovely neighbourhood. Name and address withheld.

Readers’ Letters Cont. Local People
Dear Covered, I have just read Bob’s article in the July edition and noticed that ‘next month’ you will looking at some of the problems caused by litter. I am a Horsforth in Bloom committee member and have taken on the responsibility of identifying particular ‘litter spots in Horsforth’. I take photos and, under the heading of ‘Blooming awful’ in our Horsforth in Bloom Newsletter, show a photograph and identify steps of what we can do. That said, the problems do not just relate to the misdemeanors of dropping litter – we need to improve our capacity to collect it. Such is the volume of consumable packaging these days; the litter bins which have been provided from time imemorable cannot cope with this. Consequently, especially over a nice weekend we can see, especially in the park, that the litter bins are overflowing with rubbish. Added to that the majority of bins are ‘open’ ones, allowing either the wind to blow the tops away or more likely, and in the dead of night, foxes will come in to rummage around for food. What are needed therefore are bigger covered bins to cater for the bigger consumption of food and drink and the associated packaging. I do get annoyed with the unsightly presence of cigarette ends deposited outside pubs and licensed betting offices, cafes etc. Surely a simply remedy for decreasing this habit is to make it a condition of the licence, say for pubs and betting offices to clear up outside their premises. Leeds City Council could drive this? McDonald’s have to do it, why not Licensed premises. That’s my gripe for now. Regards, Pete Mallott Horsforth in Bloom Committee Ps. I look after the ‘old burial ground’ just down from the back of Morrison’s.

Dear Mr Bob Horsforth and Covered Magazine. Regards At last a magazine that tells the truth and cares Mary about Horsforth! Dear Covered
I have lived in Horsforth all my life and have noticed over the past 10 years that the place is looking really run down. We used to have streets to be proud of and there was never any Graffiti. The grass in some areas now never gets cut and cars seem to park on footpaths and double yellow lines daily. We need Councillors who live in Horsforth and not just pass through it on their way to the Civic hall.
Dear Covered, I have just read Joan Ashcroft’s letter (Covered Edition 5) regarding her problems in driving to pick up her granddaughter from Holy Trinity School. I have two solutions. Firstly she could walk to collect her granddaughter and secondly she could take an alternative route.
Thank you for your Campaign Bob, you seem to be getting some things done for us. I think the new benches are great!
As I live near the school in question I too face problems from inconsiderate drivers who do not wait to let me through, despite my having right of way, because of cars parked on their side of the road.
Yours Sincerely S King

I am going to challenge your thinking, because to change anything in our lives we have to start with our minds. That includes losing weight. Diets don’t work because to change your weight permanently you need to change the way you think.
AV 1/4 PAGE AD
We are not our minds. We are in control of our life, not our minds. We can change the way we think about anything. As children we believe we are perfect and can do anything. True! But growing up we are repeatedly told we are much less than perfect, so we start believing this, ending up disliking ourselves. The result of this dislike of ourselves can be weight gain which leads us to dislike ourselves even more! Your challenge this month is to start liking yourself again and reprogramming your mind from negative to positive thinking, by repeating the words “I approve of myself” over and over literally all day every day. The more you say it the more your mind will believe it and gradually over time you’ll find you eat more healthily,

Hundreds participated in the Zumba dance in a bid to raise money for Chloe’s Appeal, which is raising funds for the Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal. Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal was launched in September 2010 to provide care for seriously ill youngsters. The appeal hopes to fund ‘put-up’ beds to allow parents/ guardians to stay at the hospital and to supply boxes of toys, books and films to help fill the hours for patients. And then of course there’s the medical equipment that every clinician would choose to work with, if budgets allowed.

Monthly Message from Horsforth Town Council Welcome to August! Hopefully the sun will shine for us, as the children are on holiday, and some of us are able to get away for a few days. A big “Thank You” to all of Horsforth who got the town ready for the visit of the “In Bloom” judges. The judges commented on the new seats at the Woodside roundabout, the top of Stanhope Drive and at the Drury Lane roundabout. They were pleased to see that these seats get so much use. The Town Council does appreciate the financial squeeze that limits everyone’s budgets – each committee is working to a strict budget to fund projects and events. The Environment Committee is working with Leeds to up date the planting & hard landscaping at the Old Ball Roundabout. The roundabout is still scarred from the extensive work carried out by the various utility services. A major issue for Horsforth is the pressure we all experience from the traffic in and around the Town. The Public Safety Committee is working with the Police and the PCSO’s to monitor and reduce the speed of traffic – if you have a hot-spot for speed

do contact us so that the police can come out at an appropriate time, with speed guns. Parking is another big concern. The Council constantly monitors any future developments that would increase the number of cars in Horsforth. Equally we do hope that everyone realises the need to be aware of our fellow road users – pedestrian as well as motorist. The Council is putting together a wish list for the next Five years and hope the Horsforth residents will bring forward their wishes. As the Town Clerk has successfully completed the course that will help the Council gain Quality Status, future responsibilities for Horsforth Town Council could well be expanded. What ever the next month brings, I hope we all manage to enjoy some sunshine! Best wishes, Jude Arbuckle Chair Horsforth Town Council

Given the context of the day, this seems to be mean spirited at best - opportunist money grabbing at worst. Those supporting Chloe’s Appeal who were ticketed were dismayed to find that they would have to pay up to 6 times more to the council coffers then they had donated to the charity. A request has been made to the council for the revenues from fines in the car park on that day be donated to the appeal or refunded.
Sprayed Aces Reach Centre Stage Final Horsforth band Sprayed Aces reached the final of the Centre Stage music competition and had the opportunity to play at Leeds’ premier music venue, the O2 Academy, in the final which was held in July. The band is made up of four seventeen year-olds; Luke Jowsey (lead guitar and vocals), Jonny Bargh (Guitar), Peter Moore (Bass) and Andy Hyslop (Drums) who met whilst at Horsforth School a couple of years ago.
Leeds Trinity Undergraduate Placements If your business has any marketing, PR, research, client support work, administration, web work, etc that a student could help with during 9th January - 17th February 2012 then Leeds Trinity would love to hear from you. Leeds Trinity University College runs six week unpaid placements twice a year. Students are expected to work as full time employees to ensure they gain full experience and develop their skills however this can be broken down into a shorter time frame to fit around your business.
Parking misery for charity supporters
After progressing through their heat earlier in the year, the lads reached the final 12 where they were pitted up against eleven other bands from across West Yorkshire with the winners earning the right to play on the BBC Introducing Stage at the prestigious Leeds and Reading Festivals. Unfortunately, the group didn’t win as The Mexanines
were crowned the victors but they did win the award for the most supported band after bringing a large number of fans from Horsforth. This will give them the opportunity to visit a recording studio for the day to record one of their songs. The competition, which was hosted by 96.3 Radio Aire’s Laurence Budd & Paul Dunphy, A.K.A. Larry & Paul, was run in aid of Martin House Children’s Hospital with all proceeds being awarded to the running of the Hospice. Dalesman Coaches – the latest addition to its fleet
Muston is invaded by scores of scarecrows every July. Locals enter their own versions into the charity fundraising competition. Many of the subjects are remarkably topical, and the humour rather wicked in places. Dalesman’s pick-up point (en route to nearby Filey) was next to Muston’s Last of the Summer Wine group of four, where these passengers had stopped for a chat.
a modern fleet of mini, midi and full size coaches - eight vehicles in total. Dalesman has come a long way in its 75 years and offers holidays not only throughout UK, but also to destinations in Europe and as far away as Canada.
Ken Hartshorne at Dalesman’s offices and garage in Guiseley with the latest addition to their fleet of minibuses, midi and full-sized coaches.
Baildon Motors of Guiseley, trading as Dalesman, has recently taken delivery of its third Unvi built coach – this time a new 29 seater built on a Mercedes Benz 816 euro 5 chassis with 5 speed automatic gearbox. This new addition serves the luxury end of the market. Tech Spec For the technically minded, the coach has upgraded Politecnica Grand Rally seats trimmed in burgundy virtual leather and cloth and Hispacold air conditioning with automatic temperature control and convection heating. It is also double glazed with full length parcel racks in individual service units. There is also an onboard reversing camera, Blaupunkt radio/CD/PA and a DVD player with drop down monitor. The extra large CoveredMagazine
luggage boot is complemented by underfloor lockers. The vehicle will be used for corporate and private hire and for smaller groups within Dalesman’s extensive UK and continental tour programme.
Day Trips Too Ever popular among Dalesman’s customers in the North Leeds area are their frequent day trips to sights, spectacles and attractions throughout the north. One such excursion, in July, was to the Annual
Scarecrow Festival at Muston and then on to an afternoon at Leisure in nearby Filey. See the photos – a good time was had by all … Dalesman’s forthcoming trips and full contact details are on page 2 of Covered.
Join Leeds Trinity Business Network! Leeds Trinity University College would like to invite all local businesses to join the new ‘Leeds Trinity Business Network’. With a variety of planned events through the year, it is an opportunity to network, raise your profile and support local business in our area.
Ken Hartshorne, Managing Director, commented, “We have known the personnel at Unvi UK and their agent for many years. Good experience with previous Unvi models and the high passenger appeal of the GTR made this the obvious choice.” The Company Dalesman can trace its roots through Baildon Motors back to 1936. It came under the control of current owners, the Hartshorne family, in the mid 1980s. The company operates

Malcolm Dudley is one of Dalesman’s full-time drivers; “We’re all thrilled by the new coach. It’s state-of-the-art throughout, right down to the latest digital tacho and trip information”.

Back for Good!
You get one spine - it’s designed to last you a lifetime but can at times be painful, cause you to take time off work and affect your general well being. During 11 years of service, Horsforth based Broadgate Chiropractic Clinic has seen in excess of 8,000 patients ranging from birth to 95 yrs old and have administered in excess of 48,000 treatments. They tell us their 5 top tips for keeping your back and joints in good shape. 5 Top Tips To Help Your Spine Last A Lifetime
1
Get your kids checked out; birth can be very traumatic. The stresses on the head, neck and spine of the baby can be immense, especially in prolonged or difficult labour, resulting in misalignments which can affect healthy growth and development of the child (it's a good idea for Mum to get checked out before labour too). Listen to your kids if they complain of pains. Check their shoulders and hips are level when your child is standing up, if not, this can indicate a misalignment and should be checked out
2
Start good habits at an early age; take regular exercise, maintain good posture, drink plenty of water, get good nutrition. All these will give you a head start to having a healthy body. Get yourself checked out regularly if you place high CoveredMagazine

Park Performances Ever Improving Hall Park CC has had a fantastic middle part of the season, with all three sides competing in every match. Fahem Bedford and Ally Walshaw have been the shining lights in an ever improving first XI who’ll be looking forward to three important fixtures including a local derby that will ultimately shape their season’s targets and overall standings. The 2nd XI have completely turned their season around at a crucial point, recording victory over Follifoot and picking up some valuable points along the way. Jon Holah, Paul Stephenson and Marc Pearson all hit half centuries while Usman Afzal took a remarkable six wicket haul in their win over Follifoot.
Top of the league again for the 3rd XI who remain sitting pretty at the summit of the Aire Wharfe League, the division they won last season. Fixture disruptions have had no ill effect on the side that remain perched to pole position following wins over Green Lane and Harden. S.Dobson and N.Usman have both smashed centuries for the side while 16-year-old C.Postle notched his second senior half century. The players and coaching staff down at Hall Park have experienced a promising turn of results of late and will be striving to continue their good form into the tail end of the season and do the local area proud.

Footballers Wanted for Farsley Celtic Girls The Farsley Celtic Under-13s Vixens team are on the lookout for new players in time for their 2011/12 season. The team will be fielding a 9-a-side team in the West Riding Girls Football League next season and train in Farsley on Monday evenings. The team has shown plenty of potential over the summer after winning the Rothwell Juniors’ summer tournament. The promising side also finished as runners-up in the Horsforth St. Margaret’s tournament. Coach Dean Horner is now looking to strengthen his squad for the forthcoming campaign. Any girls who will be entering Year 8 in September who are interested in joining the team, please contact Dean on 07947 921473 for more information.
Horsforth Crowned Twenty20 Kings
Charity Football Match in Rawdon A charity football match took place in Rawdon on Saturday 2nd July to raise money for Cancer Research. The teams were captained by brothers Lewis (in yellow) and James Nightingale (in blue) who helped to organise the event.
Horsforth were crowned kings of Twenty20 cricket last month after a sensational man-of-the-match show from Andrew Robinson clinched the Headingley & District Evening League Play-Off Final. With echoes of their amazing semi final win the week previously, Horsforth successfully defended a relatively low total against Kirkstall Educational CC and wrapped up the game in breath-taking style with a hat trick. HCC won the toss and chose to bat but struggled to make headway against some tight bowling and excellent fielding form the visitors. Horsforth's total of 128-9 owed much to some big hitting from Robinson who made 58 including a six which expertly picked out a team-mate's car in the car park! In reply, Kirkstall got off to an ominously comfortable start reaching 49 in the 8th over before losing a wicket. From there, in gathering gloom, Horsforth continued to chip away at the Kirkstall order, with wickets for Johnny Wiggan & Ian Stephens. Then came the turning point as, with 59 runs still needed, Robinson was unleashed from the Road End. Starting with sharp run out off his first ball, he snapped up two further wickets in his first over. CoveredMagazine
Dean Horner with Vixens players after they won Doncaster Belles’ tournament last summer
Juniors to Represent Yorkshire! That proved to be just the start as he then ripped out the last 3 Kirkstall batsmen with an incredible hat trick to send the home crowd into raptures. It just then remained for captain Peter Lawrence to pick up both the Championship & League Leaders trophies in this, the first season of the Headingley T20 League. As well as the Man of the Match award for Andrew Robinson, there was also the League Bowling Award for Johnny Wiggan. Thanks should go to the HT20 league for organising the competition, to Kirkstall for a great game and everyone in the club who contributed to an excellent evening, including the bar staff and the lads manning the BBQ (no casualties reported). But most of all, congratulations to Peter and the rest of the team for bringing more silverware back to Horsforth!
Horsforth Golf Club youngsters Rob Wilson, Liam Bennett and Greg Jennings will represent Yorkshire in the national finals of the inter-county team championship. Horsforth won the right to represent Leeds at a district qualifying tournament held at the Sand Moor club back in June and their successes are all the more remarkable because two of the lads are only in their first season of competition in the junior leagues.
Former Huddersfield Town scholar Lewis took charge of the ‘Lewis Nightingale 20+ XI’ team whilst James captained the ‘James Nightingale Teen XI’. The hot weather was not easy on the player’s close-season fitness but Lewis’ side marched out 5-2 winners. A number of locals from Rawdon came along to support the match which was held at Rawdon Old Boys’ ground and the day’s events including a bun sale, raffle and bucket collection helped to raise an impressive £1600 for the charity.
As well as booking a two-night stop over in Lincolnshire at Woodall Spa, for the county finals on August 20-21 the local boys received a claret jug and individual tankards to mark their triumph. Anyone willing to help out with sponsorship for the Juniors should contact the Secretary or Captain.

Record Numbers Run Apperley Bridge Canter There was a record entry for the 2011 running of the Apperley Bridge Canter, Horsforth Harriers early summer trail race, and the temperatures were ideal for running and the rain held off while the runners were on the course.
Rob Furness
This year’s winner was former international runner Carl Thackeray of Hallamshire Harriers who crossed the line in 34:44, following a nip and tuck battle which was only finally settled in the last few yards, with Greg Hull of Leeds City.
Horsforth Harriers next race from Woodhouse Grove School will be in September when they host the Horsforth 10K, the road race alternative to the ‘ABC’. For entries to the Horsforth 10K or for further information on the club's 'Absolute Beginners' group, see the Horsforth Harriers website at www.horsforthharriers.co.uk In other news Rob Furness was second in the tough off road Wharfedale Marathon while club captain Marc Springer took the M55 honours in the same race. In Harrogate, Helen Barber was first lady home in the 10K version of the hugely popular ladies-only ‘Race for Life’. 40th Birthday for Juniors Yarnbury RFC Juniors celebrate their 40th year this season and are gearing up to attract new players and families for the new season, with impressive appointments for the new season! Ex Junior and former first team captain Paul Marshall - an impressive touch tackling and speedy back row who always led by example will be assisted by Steve Lee, another former first team captain, and scrum half who not only had county and North East honours at schoolboy and Yorkshire level but is now a Championship Referee. Both men who have years of service at Yarnbury are bullish about organising the 300 or so juniors from Age 8 to 18. All the coaches are Level 1,Tag and Rugby Ready approved. Yarnbury Senior and England Under 20's Coach Bob Hood will oversee and mentor the junior coaches who obviously have all the formal CRB checks that legislation requires nowadays. Yarnbury RFC was founded in 1870's and was one of a few Yorkshire Clubs to open up to juniors 40 years ago. They operate throughout all age groups they attract youngsters from all over the country. Sunday Wharfedale Triangle League
Yarbury Rugby Club Beer Festival
The 2011/2012 Sunday Wharfedale Triangle League will commence in just a few weeks’ time. September will be the first competitive match for Rawdon Old Boys Sunday FC. They have had 3 friendlies so far in the pre-season and have lost two out of three. A new sponsor has bought the team a new orange ‘Dutch’ style kit for the team to play in. They have a few more friendlies in which to hone their tactics and get everything right.
Yarnbury Rugby Club hosted its second annual Beer Festival in early August. During the three days the event took place, almost one thousand visitors descended on the club to sample the forty-two beers and ciders, and enjoy the music provided by the thirteen bands that played over the weekend. The success of last year’s event prompted the decision to make the festival an annual affair.
Players to watch could include the keeper Andy Maltas, maybe not due to quality but for sheer comedy value. The defence is always going to be strong as the team is full of defenders. The midfield is battle hardened and ready for the challenge and the forwards will be aiming to emulate the talent of stars such as Rooney or Drogba.
This year, Yarnbury invited the Yorkshire Air Ambulance along to share the fundraising opportunity. The club has needed the assistance of this important charity on more than one occasion over the past season, and charity fundraisers were present at the beer festival to provide information about the organisation, sell charity quizzes and collect donations.
If you want to catch up with the latest goings on within the club, find results or fixtures then check out the website www.horsforthtown.co.uk
Old Modernians Update
The event was a superb success, raising money for both Yarnbury RFC and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, promoting local beers and companies, and of course, providing marvellous ales to thirsty Yorkshire folk on a sunny weekend!
Three Rugby Union teams, five football teams, cricket teams for all age and genders and a social calendar to suit all, the Old Modernians sports club, situated just at the top of Cookridge Lane, boasts one of the largest network of activities in the area and is definitely not something to be missed out on.
Back Row: Steve Lee, Vice Chairman. Paul Marshall, Chairman of Junior Section. Front Row: L to R: Jonny Sutcliffe, Joe Meays and Samuel Marshall
Coaches Paul and Steve are encouraging expansive play with heart and passion but enjoyment also to help the kids develop naturally. Parents are also encouraged to get involved and some games will be arranged as curtain raisers for the senior sides on Saturdays. All interested families are welcome and should contact Paul Marshall on 07711648704 or through www.yarnbury.co.uk
The sports football teams achieved masses of success in recent past seasons, with the 1sts successfully attaining FA charter standard status and now begin their campaign in the West Yorkshire Association League on 13th August. Between the remaining four mods Teams that compete in the Yorkshire Amateur League, four cup finals were contested, two promotions were gained and one trophy was won, great success that is planned to be built upon in the coming season which begins in September. The Old Modernians field three rugby teams almost every Saturday of the season and compete over two different leagues with one team organising just friendly fixtures. The cricket club compete in different leagues for different ages and genders, with junior cricket quite rightly being re-introduced this year. Alongside all the sports the Old Modernians organise a rather busy social calendar providing events to entertain all year round.
Yarnbury RFC organisers Luke, Amanda, Bob and Wayne
Fresh players and new faces are always encouraged to become involved and expand the network of people connected with the sports club therefore the inter club football tournament being held on Friday 19th August, where current players will stake a claim for next season and compete for bragging rights amongst one another is a perfect opportunity to come down and witness the club first hand. If you're interested and want to find out more about the club this would be a great chance to express your enthusiasm, even if it is only from the bar!
