Entrepreneur Niccii Kugler first launched NASH + BANKS as an online destination in 2018 when she was inspired to provide an easy way for conscious consumers to discover and shop for innovative and beautifully made products that have a positive impact.

In November 2021, Niccii took a second leap of faith and opened NASH + BANKS’ flagship bricks and mortar retail space in her hometown of Avalon. She wanted to offer her growing online customer base a place where they could touch and feel the products and really fall in love with them.
In designing and fitting out the Avalon store, Niccii collaborated with Interior Designer, Louise Walsh, to create a calming and inviting space, incorporating - wherever
possible - the same ethos to the fit-out that the brand was built on, prioritising sustainable materials, engaging local suppliers and ensuring minimal waste wherever possible.
Both the online store and the Avalon flagship offer a selection of high quality and unique accessories, clothing, homewares, sports equipment, gifts and so much more. Each and every item has been carefully chosen after a scrupulous vetting process and meets the requirements of at least one of NASH + BANKS’ eight core values: ethical, sustainable, artisan, minimal waste, vegan, Australian-made, gives back or natural. Brands stocked include Outland Denim, Cloth & Co, Vahy Fragrances, Ilio Nema, custom hats by Phylli Designs and MAHÕ.
One of NASH + BANKS’ stand-out feature is the premium gifting service in-store, where customers can select from a range of thoughtfully pre-curated gift boxes that will leave a lasting impression, or work with the team to hand-pick their own, presented in an eco-friendly luxe box and finished with a plantable gift tag.
Niccii is passionate about supporting and collaborating with other like-minded small businesses, and recently shot the NASH + BANKS Summer campaign starring Matilda Brown and Scott Gooding of The Good Farm, a local regenerative and organic shop delivering regeneratively grown produce straight from the farm to the consumer.

If you’re looking for a great place to stop in the morning, you don’t want to miss this hidden gem. The Hungry Ghost, a local’s secret with a very Melbourne-esque laneway vibe, is known for it’s Single O coffee. This hole-in-the-wall café’s ethos is small batch, hand-crafted, local, free-range and ethically sourced. The menu covers hearty jaffles with locally baked sourdough to healthy granola, a whole food soul bowl, avocado on toast with house made dukkah and organic spelt banana bread with cultured butter. With cold pressed juice and locally fermented kombucha, this place won’t disappoint.

SWELL CAFÉ
This unpretentious café is a great place to grab a wholesome breakfast or velvety coffee before hitting the beach. The delicious wraps and sandwiches are must-orders. But if you really want to splurge, opt for their signature loaded bacon and egg roll with grilled onions, cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, hashbrows, avocadoand house chilli sauce. The barista knows many local customers by name, and whips up their usual without prompt. The coffee is as smooth as the staff and strong enough to give you a caffeine hit before checking out the surf.

If you’re looking for a great cup of coffee, Classic Coffee is one of the best spots on the Northern Beaches. Dave ‘Otta’ Trevena rolls in every morning at 6am in his customised US postal truck and begins brewing. Grab a flat white and watch the waves roll in at South Avalon – it’s beautiful! The unrivalled view is arguably the most photographed scene on the Northern Beaches. You’ll find Classic Coffee at the top of Surfside Avenue Tuesday through to Sunday.
