They'll be mastering the art of reading the surf, competing in epic beach flag battles and sprint events, participating in swimming and catching waves in board races. ONE MILLION MEDITATIONS

MeditationHQ Community and Lifeline Australia invite you to join the One Million Meditations (OMM) event held annually in October for Mental Health Month. It's open to all interested in mental wellbeing. Join at the iconic Manly Beach (North Steyne Surf Club) on Saturday, October 28th, at 7am for a guided group meditation. Bring friends, your phone, headphones (for livestream guidance) and maybe a blanket for warmth or swimwear if you plan to take a dip afterward.

CRAFTING Magical Worlds Meet Gabriella Dias,

A 10-year-old child author from The Beaches, who found her love for writing at just eight years old in Year 2 when her teacher set a class challenge to write a book.

Gabriella's writing project quickly became her passion outside of school. Her parents began taking her writing seriously when she reached the halfway point. At just 8-years old, she completed her first book in the "Light of Luna" series in August 2021 and self-published it that November. Within 16-months of self-publishing her first book, she authored a total of eight books in the series, with the first three published when she was 9-years old. She is currently working on her fourth and fifth books for the series and is in the process of writing the ninth and final installment.

Gabriella's "Light of Luna" series is a captivating sci-fantasy tale following six children on an adventurous journey as they realise they are destined to fulfill a prophecy as the Chosen Ones of Six. They explore mesmerising worlds like Sister Planet and Barleria, encountering exotic Queendoms, uncovering secrets, and confronting spells. They also transform into powerful mythical creatures. Amidst magic and chaos, the trilogy explores the children's quest for self-discovery and highlights the role of friendship in shaping destiny.
