A swim at Manly Beach
Advertisement
Iconic Manly Beach is a surf beach that has three main sections South Steyne, North Steyne, in the centre, and Queenscliff (Queensie) at the northern end. In the summer months, there are usually three sets of flags - one at each of these sections, where swimmers can swim with the added assurance that these areas are patrolled by lifeguards. Queenscliff also has a large ocean pool where you can simply splash around or do lengths.
Grab a coffee
Northern Beaches locals love their coffee, and we’re pretty damn good at it. There’s an abundance of cute cafes with an epic chill vibe overlooking the water, perfect for a coffee pit stop or checking on emails. Our top picks: Ora Manly, Hemingway's Manly or The Corner at Queensie.
Manly to Palm Beach Coastal Walk
A beautiful coastal walk of approximately 50km that can be broken down over a number of days, the walk takes you from Palm Beach, at Barrenjoey Headland, along all of the Northern Beaches, finishing at Manly’s North Head. Cafés, stores and accommodation providers are scattered along the way in areas such as Avalon and Dee Why, whilst a number of buses complement the walk to allow easy access along different points. The entire coastal walk can be a little too much to take on board all in one go, so why not break it into sections and enjoy it at a more leisurely pace?
Hop on a Bike
The quickest and easiest way to get around the Beaches! You’ll be zooming past the crowds and looking at the ocean from the best seat in the house. The Northern Beaches has some great bike paths, making it super easy to get around from beach to beach.
Shopping
Manly has some great shops along the Corso showcasing all your favourite brands. Or if you’re wanting to shop like a local, head down to the markets just off the Corso every Saturday and Sunday. If you’re wanting something bigger and better, Westfield Warringah Mall has it all.
Visit the Q Station
Q Station is a hidden gem located at North Head on the shores of Sydney Harbour in Manly. Surrounded by native Australian bushland with stunning views overlooking the Sydney Harbour and skyline. It is also home to the old Quarantine Station. Go there for their famous ghost tours or delicious restaurants. You can also stay overnight at their stylish accommodation overlooking the harbour.
