The key stage 5 charter
Our sixth form charter is a requirement of all Cowes sixth form students and involves a variety of creative, sports, community service and employability skills development activities. Participation is an integral and compulsory part of being a student at Cowes sixth form. Involvement and commitment both builds on the charter experiences from key stages 3 and 4 and further helps our students to develop as people, build confidence, enhance social and employability skills.
The key stage 5 Charter programme is highly valuable and covers a range of experiences from leadership opportunities to curriculum extension experiences. Part of the key stage 5 charter is to provide the best opportunities for those applying for further education, apprenticeships or employment.
Potential employers and universities are looking for well-rounded individuals who have made a significant contribution to the academy and local community, as well as academic excellence. Charter activities are tracked and monitored by the sixth form pastoral Team and Form Tutors in order to ensure that all students develop a balanced and effective range of skills and experiences related to their future plans and aspirations.
