before we realize it, the end of the year is here. I am very happy to welcome a new hotel to our CPI Hotels family in a new destination. Those of you who do not know yet will certainly know after reading this issue. Our marketing colleagues will share the details of the project with you.
Thank you everyone who participated in this great event for perfect work, and thank you all of you for all that you have accomplished in the past year.

thank you for taking a moment to read our magazine in the pre-Christmas rush. Let’s immerse ourselves in a whirlwind of Christmas well-being and inspiration while reading. Just like last year, this year we have selected the most beautiful Christmas decorations, the photo of which adorns the front page. At the same time, we would like to thank all of you who participated in the competition and showed us your decoration. Some of you were really creative, others have classic decorations, others are distinctive. You can see that it is this diversity and variety that makes us a great team.

Internal Communication CSR + HR
At CPI Hotels, we are always looking for new opportunities to support a good thing. And it does not always have to be just financial help. We have decided to support the biggest series of night runs and races in the Czech Republic and Europe, organized by EVENT media, in the period from September to December by purchasing entry fees for our employees who have signed up for this challenge. The events were varied. There was running with neon signs, among zombies and with Santa Claus. The event also included the well-known AVON charity run for healthy breasts. Thanks to our 25 ambassadors from Prague, Brno, Olomouc and České Budějovice, we were able to help eight Czech foundations. Thank you!

11. september, a big filming took place at the CPI Hotels. But not filming a film, as you would think. In cooperation with videocameras, we started preparing a recruitment video in which we aimed to introduce our company to mostly young high school graduates. We managed to walk through 3 hotels across Prague in one day. See if you can tell which ones are in the video!
Apart from one recruitment video introducing Co. CPI Hotels, we also created a series of eight portraits that show our amazing employees. They talked not only about their work, but also about what their dream job was when they were children. The material for the whole project was prepared by our collaborator from Bratislava, among others a former employee of the Bratislava Clarion, Rado Bátora, whose energy and positive charge infected us all.
You will soon be able to see for yourself how successful the project has been on our website, in the Careers section.
No one doubts that Christmas opens people’s hearts. This year we have decided to support the Shoebox event, which is sponsored by Diakonie ČCE, to make Christmas nicer for children and families who cannot afford a Santa Claus due to their difficult life situation. This year’s challenge was: One box per team/hotel. I considered the original result of 20 boxes very nice. I was surprised when, after sending out the thank you notes, I received several more emails saying that there were many more boxes and that you simply forgot to tell us at the hotels as you were busy. The result is: 48!!!
The imaginary winner are our colleagues from Ostrava, where the Imperial Hotel handed in 15 boxes and the Clarion Congress Hotel even 17! At the Downtown Residence, they set a goal to get the biggest box possible, so one young lady will get a box not from shoes, but from boots.
I think we can agree that a good deed warms the heart not only of the recipient of the gift, but also of the giver. I am proud to work with such great people like all of you. Thank you!

We have fulfilled our promise - the trees for the uncleaned rooms are planted!
On 11 November, a tree planting ceremony took place in the small village of Sentice, near Brno. This project was implemented in cooperation with experts from Sázíme Česko, a company specializing in reforestation and nature conservation. Our company was represented by colleagues from the Quality Hotel Brno Exhibition Centre, for which we would like to thank them very much. Despite the bad weather, they planted a total of 695 trees! Our grove is marked with a wooden sign so that we will recognize it in a few years. The trees were planted as part of our Join Pure Stay eco-programme, where we give guests the option to refuse room cleaning using a JPS cleaning tag. And because we promise to plant 10 trees for every 100 uncleaned rooms, we have now fulfilled that commitment - and will continue to do so!
And we have some more great news: The company Sázíme Česko has compiled a ranking of 500 companies that have planted the most trees. We are currently ranked a great 34th place in this ranking and look forward to possibly moving up even higher in the spring of 2025 with our next planting.

This year we are also helping animals in shelters
Just like last year, this year we have helped dogs in shelters. Thanks to the cooperation with the social enterprise DobroDílo, which employs disabled people, we found a beautiful use for the discarded bedspreads and covers from our hotels. We used textile from these hotels: Quality Hotel Brno Exhibition Centre, Clarion Congress Hotel Prague, Clarion Congress Hotel Bratislava and Clarion Congress Hotel České Budějovice. The result was 100 soft pet beds that now make the daily lives of furry friends in shelters more pleasant - especially on these cold winter days. We are very happy that we can combine helping dogs and people in need with a responsible approach to the environment. Thanks to everyone involved in this project and we look forward to many more meaningful initiatives!

A new addition to the CPI Hotels family: Clarion Hotel Vienna South
We are happy to announce that our hotel network has grown again! In December, we opened the new Clarion Hotel Vienna South, located in the Wienerberg district of Vienna. This modern hotel, formerly known as Holiday Inn Vienna - South, has not only added another great destination to our portfolio, but also introduced us to a new country - Austria.
We have been preparing for this opening all autumn. The marketing team worked intensively on creating a new website, preparing marketing materials, updating presentations and coordinating with our colleagues in Hungary and Austria to ensure everything was ready for a smooth launch. It was great teamwork that made this project come to life successfully!
The hotel attracts guests with breathtaking views of the city, excellent access to the centre of Vienna and a wide range of services. Social networks - creativity in action: Award for Clarion Congress Hotel Olomouc
In August, the team of employees from the Clarion Congress Hotel Olomouc earned well-deserved recognition for their creativity on social media. In the competition for the most original entry, they won with a video that uniquely presented the hotel in the context of the Czech Tour, the largest Czech cycling race.
The main star of the video was Mr. Alois Knap, Banquet Manager of the hotel, who “trained” directly in the conference premises. This original idea not only humorously combined the hotel environment with a sporting event, but also impressed the jury with its imaginative and professional production.
For this achievement, the authors of the award-winning entry, Mrs. Krejzlíková and Mr. Knap, received a Grand Moravia package as a thank you for their work. This award is not only proof of the creativity of the entire team, but also an inspiration of how a distinctive approach and an original idea can bring success in today’s world of digital communication.
Congratulations to the whole team on their well-deserved award and we look forward to their next ideas!

In the whirlwind of corporate events, meetings with partners and strengthening team spirit, we had many great moments that brought new opportunities and enriching experiences.
In September, we welcomed our clients to a corporate breakfast at the Mamaison Hotel Riverside Prague, where we introduced them to our newly renovated conference facilities. The event was complemented with a creative workshop of making earrings and bracelets from beads, which our guests enjoyed to the fullest.
In the meantime, our colleague Štěpán Mach represented us in Budapest at a corporate party, where we presented the newly renovated restaurant in Mamaison Hotel Andrássy Budapest to our business partners.
And we also organized a FAM Trip to Olomouc with the participation of Kristýna Kantková and Daniel Kroupa. Many thanks to the team in Olomouc for the perfect organization!
Teambuilding of sales/marketing/revenue of foreign hotels took place in Budapest and contributed to even better cooperation between our hotels. With the participation of Kateřina Zelená, Pavla Pelcová, Štěpán Mach, Markéta Drožová and Simona Strnadová, we managed to strengthen the team spirit, strengthen inter-hotel ties and learn something new within the educational block. During this visit, we also had the opportunity to see the ongoing construction of our two new hotels, which are supposed to open to guests during 2025.

Highlights of November’s activities included Markéta Drožová’s business trip to the IBTM World trade fair in Barcelona and Štěpán Mach’s business trip to the United Kingdom, focused on MICE. At the end of the month, Kateřina Zelená and Kristýna Kantková followed him to the United Kingdom to meet relocation agencies. We ended November with a special thanks to our partners. As part of the Christmas Sales Blitz, we started giving out “Healthy Christmas Sales Blitz” or “Tasty Christmas Sales Blitz” packages. Reconstruction of the Reception Desk
crowds of visitors. This was also the case at the Ostrava Job Fair, which took place in October and presented employers not only from the region but from the whole country.
Right after the summer music festivals ended, we started a long-planned action - a complete reconstruction of the hotel reception desk and lobby. Due to the extent of the work, it was necessary to close the hotel for the necessary period of time. There was a complete replacement of the distri bution system, modification of the receptionist’s facilities and harmonization of the entire space in a modern design combination of gold, dark brown and white. The additional gift for the hotel’s 120th birthday looks fantastic and our guests’ reactions are equally enthusiastic.

World Animal Day
Since 1931, animals have celebrated their day on October 4. Fourlegged pets are also welcome here and we can definitely take care of them. Our services can be recommended not only by Aleš Cibulka’s canine partner but also by our regular guest Eda, who regularly accompanies his owner Heidi Janků.

Filming of the movie The Invincibles
In October, the fourth year of the IPH Cup took place in Ostrava with the participation of the world’s top players and once again had its favourite facilties in the Quality Hotel Ostrava City. The tournament was also the “scenery” for the upcoming film The Invincibles by director Dan Pánek, which is inspired by the stories of elite para-hockey players. The first scenes in Ostrava were shot by Ivan Trojan, Hynek Čermák, Tomáš Havlínek or Vanda Hybnerová. Hollywood star Til Schweiger, known from Quentin Tarantino’s blockbuster film Inglourious Basterds, will play the role of the American coach.

Helping the Plush Shelter
On 18.10.2024 our driver Martin Horák went again to Mrs. Čtvrtníčková’s dog shelter to hand over much needed textiles. Mrs. Čtvrtníčková has expanded her shelter with new dogs and these textiles are very necessary for the shelter’s operation. We are happy to support the dog shelter.

At the end of September we helped the mayor of Tovéř and its local residents with the revitalization of the pond surroundings, which consisted of collecting garbage, cutting and disposing of invasive plants, creating an access and circular path along the pond from wood chips, raking and disposing of old leaves, branches and other plant bio-waste. On 26 November, the Clarion hosted an Advent party and workshop for corporate clients of our two Olomouc hotels, where participants could make an Advent wreath. An experienced florist was on hand. SOVAK Gala Evening
SOVAK, or the Water Supply and Sewerage Association of the Czech Republic, held its largest water management conference on 13-14 November. Over 700 delegates attended it and our hotel was the main accommodation partner (we were fully booked) and also the venue for the big gala evening. The gala evening was attended by about 700 guests and was the largest event ever held at the hotel in this number. The entire hotel was booked for this festive event only and the Minister of Agriculture
Two congresses, one chess game and one farewell
The September season is always in the spirit of congresses, both those held in our hotel and those held outside our hotel. The confer ence of allergists accommodated in the hotel clashed with the Jazz Goes To Town festival. Fortunately, Hradec Kralove is a big city...
The beginning of November is also the time for chess players, who annually hold a week-long tournament in our large congress hall. This is an event within the Czech Open national tour, for all ages.

Top neurosurgeons in a top hotel
On St. Martin’s Day we said goodbye to our beloved colleague who is going on maternity leave. On behalf of the whole hotel we wished her to be happy in her new role and the baby to be healthy. This is her third child. We will all miss her on the reception team, her insight and always professional demeanor will be very difficult to replace. After the New Year we look forward to her visit.

At the end of November we had the honour to host the Annual Congress of the Czech Neurosurgical Society ČLS JEP in the Zlatý Lev, which took place on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the Liberec Neurosurgery, from 20th to 22nd November 2024.
This important congress was organized under the auspices of the Director General of the Regional Hospital in Liberec MUDr. Richard Lukáš, Ph.D., the Mayor of Liberec Ing. Jaroslav Zámečník, CSc. and the Governor of the Liberec Region Bc. Martin Půta.
The Regional Hospital in Liberec (RHL) has become the first hospital in the Czech Republic and the fourth in Europe to receive the prestigious status of European Surgical Spine Centre of Excellence. Only thirteen hospitals in the world have this certification in spinal surgery, and we are extremely proud that RHL is one of them. This significant success for the Liberec experts is emphasized by the award they received from the international Eurospine - Spine Society of Europe for one of the best spine surgery departments in Europe.
In the pleasant surroundings of our Art Nouveau hotel, situated in the heart of Liberec, we managed to organize an event at a high professional and social level. The quality of the presentations was excellent, as were the enriching discussions with leading experts in the field.
The whole congress was held in a very friendly spirit and the guests enjoyed not only the stimulating lectures but also the accompanying events including the after-congress after party in our Café Bar. There were lively discussions accompanied by a DJ

On 12 September, an event was held for our long-time partners as a thank you for their long-standing cooperation, which was held in Asian style. Ms Špalová also visited one more trade fair, one of the most prestigious travel trade fairs in the world - the World Travel Market (WTM) in London. Together with her colleague Ondřej Marek, they introduced the CPI Hotels and its wide range of hotels and services to the visitors.

Winter Season is Officially Open
In November we officially opened the winter spa season. This exceptional event, prepared for spa hotel guests as well as local residents and visitors, offered a magical atmosphere of our spa town and a varied cultural program with a performance of dulcimer music. All those present could taste traditional delicacies - goulash, pate, hot drinks and of course St. Martin’s wine.
As part of this traditional event, St. Martin also visited our town on Monday 11 November to symbolically bless the upcoming winter season.
Visitors enjoyed moments of relaxation, fun and peace and quiet and beautiful experiences in the heart of our spa town.

In Špindlerův Mlýn we also think about children
We really enjoyed the autumn animation with the little holiday makers, and we ended the programme with the popular Halloween pumpkin-carving. Under the supervision of a hedgehog, all seventy pumpkins were carved.
Our animator Zuzka is not idle and is busily devising a program for winter animations. Onn St. Nicholas’ Day, children will receive a small gift which a small hedgehog will give them during breakfast and there might even be some poems.

In the beginning of October, we had a fantastic team-building day with our colleagues from CPI Hotels in the Czech Republic, Poland, Italy and Slovakia! The programme kicked off with exciting AI workshops and presentations on how to use social media. Lunch took place at Oléo Pazzo restaurant and coffee break at the Courtyard by Marriott Budapest City Center’s event venue on the underground parking garage level. After the work, we continued with the fun part: we explored Budapest by boat and by a walk tour, we had a delicious dinner at Andrássy Garden and some cocktails in the evening to make the event even more memorable!

Our restaurant, Andrássy Garden has recently undergone an internal refurbishment, which has resulted in a true cosmopolitan rebirth. Summer Teambuilding Slovensko
The August teambuilding in Bratislava sundeck was a great opportunity for our hotel team to meet outside the hotel environment and enjoy an evening full of experiences. The sun was shining and the atmosphere was great. We had the opportunity to take a boat ride on the Danube and enjoy the beauty of Bratislava from a different perspective. After this adrenaline rush, we had a quiz, which was full of healthy competition and, most importantly, a lot of fun. This evening reminded us how important it is to spend time together not only as colleagues but also as friends. Together we created new memories that brought us even closer together.

Helping where it is needed: our used blankets have found a new home
At our company, we believe that even a small gesture can make a big difference. This time we decided to lend a helping hand to our four-legged friends from the shelter who lack the most basic needs - warmth and comfort. Discarded, used blankets were given a new purpose and went where they are really needed. We cleaned the blankets, prepared them for transport and happily handed them over to their new owners. We are proud to have helped the dogs improve their comfort. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this project. It always makes sense to help!

Comfort Hotel Prague City East
Back to the
Past
It was 1964 when the doors to the then Solidarity Hotel, which we all know now as the Comfort Hotel Prague City East, first opened. At that time the second largest hotel in Prague.
During its 60-year journey, the building has undergone internal and external reconstruction and has changed its name several times. The Solidarity Hotel became the Quality Hotel and later the Fortuna City Hotel. The building underwent the most extensive changes during the last reconstruction, when it was dressed in the “American style” of the COMFORT hotel.
We are glad that from time to time a “contemporary witness” stops by to reminisce about the time when he worked here in the 80s as a waiter in a wine café, but as he says, he would be lost here today.
On the occasion of its 60th anniversary, we wish the hotel to stand here for many more years to come and continue to provide comfort, convenience and well-being to its next guests.

As part of our hotel news, we would like to share with you our little green delight.
As part of our eco project, we have expanded the hotel premises with a hydroponic garden. Fragrant mint, basil, lamb’s lettuce, other lettuces and herbs are starting to sprout. Keep your fingers crossed for us to see the first tomatoes!
Not only lovers of fresh flavours, but also nature will be happy. The garden is environmentally friendly. Next to the garden, we have sustainable plant pots from Elho, a company that uses 80% recycled plastic and uses clean wind energy to power production. In addition, we have started preparing kokedamas with the young cuttings of our houseplants and are getting ready to create Christmas decorations. We are already looking forward to showing you the results of our work. We create with passion and sustainably!

We are looking forward to autumn and winter at the Clarion Hotel in Vysočany. In the lobby and in the restaurants, our guests and employees are welcomed by autumn decorations, which will be replaced by spectacular Christmas decorations with the start of Advent. Thank you, Lenka Siková, for making this place so nice!

Trade Fairs in London and Barcelona
The Clarion Café will offer you unusual drinks to warm you up: The Cinnapple Sour is a Calvados-based winter drink that is topped with cinnamon syrup and balanced with lime juice. It is a refreshing drink that also warms you up nicely. The next drink is Werthers Hot Bourbon, a bourbon-based hot cocktail flavored with cinnamon and orange combined with butterscotch and salted caramel. This drink is a great thing to warm up.
In December, we are also planning St. Nicholas gifts for the children of our employees and a traditional Christmas gathering, just a lot of nice events.

Our Bees Scored Again!
We are proud to have defended our gold medal in the prestigious Czech Honey 2024 competition. Since 2016, we have grown to 13 bee colonies and thanks to this we are able to produce up to 600 kg of delicious honey per year. We then use it to make all sorts of delicacies for our guests. Two years with Mamaison Riverside
At the end of September, we were proud to celebrate our second anniversary of our reopening at Mamaison Riverside Hotel. During these two years, we have experienced many changes - we have said goodbye to some colleagues, while new ones have enriched our team with their ideas and energy. Together we have overcome all the challenges and step by step we are improving our services and the environment for our guests.
One of the key projects of the past year was the extensive renovation of B Building. The demanding work included sanding and varnishing the parquet floors, refurbishing the furniture and other interventions that gave the premises a new shine. We also paid special attention to the decoration of the hotel corridors. New are modern paintings with unique compositions of stabilized flowers. These natural elements bring a sense of freshness to the interiors and connect the hotel with the surrounding landscape. And because our work never ends, next year we are preparing for another major project - the renovation of the bathrooms, which

November was in the spirit of autumn atmosphere and especially Halloween. The reception team happily started carving pumpkins, which decorated the reception area, lobby bar and breakfast room during Halloween week. This creative decoration brought smiles to the faces of guests and staff alike.
But as the end of the year is near, we are already looking ahead to the Christmas season. The hotel will soon be wrapped in festive decorations that will create an unforgettable atmosphere for guests and our team. We look forward not only to Christmas, but also to what the next year full of challenges and successes will bring.

Bowl for Dogs from
Since we are not only a family hotel but also friendly to all animals, we agreed that in addition to the traditional “Shoebox” event, we will also make some animals happy this year. We had been choosing which shelter to help for a long time, until Voříškov caught our eye. After several emails with the shelter staff, the decision was made. We contributed to monthly food, veterinary care and Christmas presents form two dogs.

We’re definitely people in the right place. Not only do we like to take care of our hotel guests who come to stay with us, but we, employees, also love to travel. Last time we introduced you to our travel closet, where we show postcards from our travels. Now we’ve added an interactive world map. We’re going to keep a regular record of the places we’ve visited, and we’re all very curious to see what destinations await us in the future. Right now we are most looking forward to the new Clarion in Vienna, but other destinations will follow right after.

Our Oasis of Peace and Comfort
Although Mamaison Residence Belgická is one of the smaller residences in our hotel portfolio, we strive to improve it and give our guests a feeling of peace and comfort during their stay. So we bought more stabilized plants that complement our little oasis in the lobby perfectly. Mamaison Residence Belgická Prague focuses on feng shui and green plants are beneficial to the inner well-being of both guests and staff. We are also trying to improve the environment around us through small actions, such as reducing the use of chemicals. The apartments, including the common areas of the residence, are cleaned using only certified environmentally friendly products.

New Life for Coffee Capsules
Since November, we have introduced an aluminium coffee capsule recycling programme to reduce waste and protect the environment. Each used capsule is carefully collected and placed in recycling bags. We then send them to the locations that will take care of their further processing. The result is a reduction in aluminium waste from the hotel and a chance for the capsule to have a new life.

Magic in Siddharta Café
The Christmas atmosphere in Siddharta Café has gained a new dimension this year. This year we have focused on natural materials - dried orange peels, rosemary and wooden decorations that bring a subtle Christmas scent and a peaceful atmosphere to the space.
We have added a creative touch - handmade ornaments made from recycled coffee capsules that bring a unique, eco-friendly element to the decor. If you manage to find them, don’t forget to take a picture with them and share this original Christmas experience with us!
In addition to the new decorations, we have prepared a new festive offer for our guests, which perfectly complements the Christmas atmosphere. At our buffet you can enjoy chestnuts in maple syrup, traditional Czech braided sweet bread and a new dish - French toast from braided sweet bread. We also offer baked teas, homemade eggnog and many other delicious specialties to make your holiday moments more enjoyable.
