Who is...Sharon-O-Love!? ‘’Like my DJ’s I started in the bedroom, my ideal threesome was me and a pair of techniques. Music has always been an essential part to me growing up, so learning a few skills on the decks and then being able to reach out to others by playing in clubs gave me a purpose. I love watching people smile, dance, sing, cheer and bear their souls on the dane-floor, it’s so beautiful to see so many people come together and share their happiness. Dancefloors are a place for me to share my energy and love, music really is a spiritual thing and I am blessed to be able to play in so many cities across the world. In all my experience of playing, I have to say that Amsterdam is one of the most amazing, electrifying places to be, and to be given the opportunity to play for Rapido Events at Funhouse is more than pleasurable, Funhouse is fast becoming one of the best clubbing experiences in Europe, I get so excited about these gigs. I was so flattered that I was asked to play the Atlantis Sailors Party, I can’t think of nothing better than a huge wave of gorgeous sea-men in front of me. Pride Photo Award 2012 Exhibition On Friday September 28th, Andree van Nes, alderman of the City of Amsterdam will open the exhibition of the Pride Photo Award 2012 in the beautiful Old Church of Amsterdam. Prior to the Opening Ceremony, Dennis Boutkan will award the international winners of the four different categories of the Pride Photo Award 2012. The exhibition of Pride Photo Award can be visited until the 28th of October 2012 in the Old Church of Amsterdam. The theme category of the Pride Photo Award 2012 ‘Chameleons / Double Life’. Chameleons / Double Life’ is the opposite of the 2011 theme ‘Straight Back at You’. Last year’s theme was about society’s reactions to people who are ‘different’, while the 2012 theme was about the ways that people adapt to their surroundings and to the gender norms and the heterosexual norm. Pride Photo Award was looking for photographs about the choices people make to adapt or not to adapt – the conformists and the non-conformists, people living on the edge and the extremes – people with alter egos or double lives, either hidden or in the open. International photographers could submit their photographs in four different categories: Chameleons / Double Life’, Documentary, Gender and an Open Category. The exhibition of the winning photographs of the four categories has been composed by Marga Rotteveel of Photo Revolt. The exhibition can be visited from Saturday 28th of September until Sunday 28th of October 2012 in the beautiful Old Church of Amsterdam. Look at me!
