WHAT IS FORMERLYME?

Ask enough fitness experts and trainers and you will continuously hear that exercise is not as important to a healthy body as your nutrition plan. What we eat contributes significantly to our health. The old saying, “Garbage in, garbage out”. Is definitely a true statement. Also you have to unlearn the word 'diet'. Nutrition is positive long term habits and diets are short term phases. When I started my journey I knew I would be trying many plans to see what worked for me. I feel that there is not one plan that fits everyone and every person's body type and goals.

I first tried going 100% vegan plant based nutrition. The first week was rough, but by week two I felt great and had lots of energy. I was on this plan for over 90 days. Then I switched to a high protein low carb plan. Not quite to the levels of Keto or Atkins, but with reasonable allowances for victory days. I found that this plan gave little room for error or indulgences as I was still taking my proteins and other supplements.
I then decided to go with a calorie counting plan which meant I could eat whatever I wanted but kept what I ate under 2000 calories a day. This included fast food and all the worst things out there in the supermarket aisles. I found that although I didn't gain weight, I simply felt sluggish and workouts were hard to push through. Recently I decided to focus more on my gut health and try intermittent fasting with some more plant based components than I typically would consume. This I found to be the right balance for me. Just because this plan works for me doesn't mean it is good for everybody. I would strongly encourage anyone to seek out the professional guidance of a nutritionist, dietitian, or trainer to help you define, refine, and achieve your goals for your health. You get one body and one life to live. Live the best life you can; while you can with the right nutrition plan for you.
