GIMS Qatar will be held to coincide with the 2023 Qatar Formula 1 Grand Prix on October 8. It is designed to be a groundbreaking, history-making motor show that brings together the biggest players in the global automotive industry in a truly immersive space.
“We are delighted to organize the region’s first-ever Geneva International Motor Show Qatar edition. The event is designed to attract car enthusiasts not only in Qatar and the region but also from all over the world, especially Europe. The region is wellknown for its love of cars, and GIMS Qatar is being organized to complement that passion while also creating a unique opportunity for the people to connect with their passion,” said Sandro Mesquita, CEO of the Geneva International Motor Show.
“We are bringing a unique experience to the region to the delight of all automobile lovers. This is the first time in the region that an event of this nature is being organized to coincide with a Formula One Grand Prix, making it an experience of a lifetime for all participants. We look forward to welcoming everyone from all over the world,” Trenkel said.
The newly curated car festival will present the latest designs, innovations, and automotive technology in automobile exhibitions, first-time reveals, and various test drives, including at the Lusail International Circuit. A preview of the highly anticipated Qatar Auto Museum display, which will showcase one of the most remarkable car collections in the world, from supercars and limited editions to racing and classic cars, will round off the program.
The 10-day event is organized by GIMS and Qatar Tourism, and is scheduled to take place every two years.
CP magazine was invited to see first-hand what GIMS Qatar 2023 has in store. We had the opportunity to see the venue as it was getting prepared and also had the opportunity experience Qatar’s passion for all things automotive and discover highlights of the destination.
The three day visit was well planned and had some great itinerary for the international media to visit and experience.
Amongst the many beautiful sites in Doha, we really enjoyed the visit to the Qatar National Museum with focus on soon to open “Qatar Auto Museum” Mawater gallery.
Another interesting visit was to the Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum where we had the opportunity to see his private collection of over 2000 automotive from different eras and makes.
In general Doha has a lot to offer visitors of all interests and we really enjoyed exploring the city and enjoying the delicious food.
