FormerlyMe is an online movement to motivate and inspire people to become the best version of themselves by showing them my journey and experience in trying a new workout and lifestyle regime every 30 days. Every post, update, and video is ‘formerly me’ as I endeavor to become the best version of myself and become FormerlyMe. Each month CP Magazine will showcase a part of my journey to becoming the best version of myself. I hope that in turn this inspires and motivates you to start your own journey as well. For this month’s story we will focus on the “Personal Records” days of my journey.

As my second year of my journey to become the best version of myself was coming to a close, I started to focus on the weight training more. With that came the goal of seeing just how much weight I could move. The feeling of strength is one that I recommend to everyone. The greatest challenge to yourself is to test what you are capable of. Personal Records or PR for short became the new challenge to myself.

1500lbs Calf Raises (680.389kg)

Pushing myself would mean finding the right balance between the amount of weight and proper form to avoid injuries. Injuries are huge setbacks to the journey and at my age (44 years old) would take several weeks to recover. Pushing your limits is good, but injuries are very bad. 360lbs Tricep Press (163.29kg)

With every new PR I would reach, I felt stronger and stronger. Simply the best feeling in the world knowing that I can move a significant amount of weight. Also while building muscle you raise your metabolism which helps you lose weight in the long term. Strength training should be a main focus of any plan to get healthy and become the best version of yourself!

Follow my journey online at FormerlyMe.com and on the YouTube channel. Next month I will cover my more unique experiences I had in 2021. Until next time that has been FormerlyMe! facebook.com/FormerlyMe twitter.com/MeFormerly instagram.com/formerlymeofficial
