Guidelines to writing effective prompts

E D I T P R O M P T

Purpose

Be clear about the reason for your prompt: E.g. “I need to understand photosynthesis”

Role

Ask the Al to assume a role: E.g. “You are a helpful tutor...”, or “You are an examiner...”

Organize

Make sure your prompt is well written, structured clearly and logically, with clear parts

Model

Provide examples of the output vou need and the form vou want your output in

Parameter

Specify the boundaries. For example, vou may upload a document and ask to onlv reference that Tweak

Based on the output you receive, you may wish to tweak your prompt to improve the output

Evaluate the output for correctness, language, tone, style, facts

Determine the accuracy of the output. Validate against literature and source references

Identify misinformation, inaccuracies, hallucinations and biases

Transform the output to reflect the truth and to incorporate your voice and context
