A CLIENT’S JOURNEY DEX COLLECTIONS Jack Xu, director of promotional products supplier Dex Collections reached out to Crabtrees Real Estate Senior Executive Andrew Loudon to find a larger facility to support the exponential growth of his business. Offering a wide range of promotional gifts including stress shapes, bags and pens, Dex Collections has an international reputation, importing and wholesaling products in Australia, New Zealand and the USA, as well as creating products through two Chinese factories. Currently based in Dandenong South, Jack found he would soon be needing a considerably bigger building to support the rapid growth of the business. ‘I contacted Crabtrees because they had sold my last warehouse in 2016 so I already had a working relationship with them,’ he says. ‘He was in desperate need for a bigger property, but we showed him a few existing office warehouses and they just didn’t have what he needed,’ says Crabtrees Senior Execuitve Andrew. ‘So then we started looking at designing and constructing a new facility.’


After a thorough search period looking for a property that could accommodate Dex Collections’ specific needs, they settled on a sizeable allotment in Hammond Business Park, Dandenong South and developed the plans for the new facility in conjunction with Chris from Vaughan Constructions. “It was a really collaborative process, and we had a lot of meetings with Jack and Chris to make sure we got absolutely all of the details as Jack wanted them. There were a lot of complex elements that needed to come together in the right way, so it was a great feeling to end with a finished product that everyone’s happy with.” Commented Andrew. “The new facility is a vast improvement on space,’ Jack says. ‘It’s much more comfortable, and the additional area the new premises provides will enable us to continue to expand the business.’ The purpose-built warehouse, which is now completed, features a total building area of 4,905 sqm including showroom and office plus a concrete hard stand, loading yard and 74 parking spaces. ‘I was really happy with the service Crabtrees provided, they did a great job,’ Jack said. ‘I would 100% work with them again in the future.’
