MANUFACTURING We are always pushing the outer limits of new manufacturing technologies. We use the latest in CNC (Computer Numerical Control) technology to turn our own aluminum and plastic trim pieces, wind checks, shims and other rod components. This allows us to tightly control the precision and quality of every part while increasing efficiency in our work flow. It’s about as high-tech as you can get – and produces a better, more consistent product, every time.
DESIGN IPC,® ART,™ TET, FRS and the many other design and manufacturing technologies and protocols that go into building the most advanced fishing rods on earth didn’t come about by accident – or by trial and error. We use sophisticated CAD programs like 3D Solidworks in the design and modeling of every rod, handle and custom component part to achieve the ultimate level of precision.
HANDCRAFTSMANSHIP It takes experience, dedication and talent to handcraft a premiumperformance fishing rod, and St. Croix’s team of expert rod builders are the best in the business. It takes over 30 pairs of hands to complete three-dozen different steps in the manufacturing, assembly and finishing of a St. Croix rod. A medalist in world ice fishing competitions, Greg spent years refining his invention. The super-finesse coil spring is much more sensitive than any other type of indicator. It allows ice anglers to see the most subtle bump or strike well before it can be felt.

St. Croix’s strike indicator system is adjustable, so its sensitivity level can accommodate different lure sizes. To make the bobber more sensitive, push the spring forward through the grommet. To make it less sensitive, push it back. (illustration no. 1) PAGE

The system is most sensitive when there is a 30-degree bend (position 2) in the spring. To find the bottom, lower the jig until the indicator returns to position 1. Then, either slowly reel up once or lift the rod slightly until the indicator is back to position 2. (illustration no. 2)
