Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the fresh start of a new year. We ask that you ignite within us the passion of loving you and loving others this year.

Turn our hearts toward the things that matter most to you and open our eyes to how we can serve those around us this year and love them as you do. Help us live in a way that pleases you and brings glory to your name.

We ask for wisdom this year. There is so much we don’t know, and there are circumstances that arise that we don’t know how to navigate. We ask that you provide us with the wisdom for each situation that comes our way. Thank you for giving it generously to those who ask.

Lord, last year was a struggle. Everyone experienced some type of change, and for many, it was a year that brought loss and stretched us like no other year. Thank you for being by our side every step of the way.

Even through the challenges and terrible experiences we had to face, you never left our side. You never turned your back on us. Even in the moments when we cried out in anger to you, you did not turn away from us. You heard the cry of our hearts, and you always will. Even in those moments where it felt like you were silent, you were still working.

Thank you for going before us this year. No matter what we face in the coming months, we ask that we stay focused on you.

No matter the valley we will walk through, may we constantly give you praise.

No matter the mountains we have to climb, may we constantly give you praise.

No matter the circumstances, may we constantly give you praise, for you are worthy.

Thank you for being in control of it all. In Jesus’ name, amen.
