24th June 2022
Message from Mrs Conrad I am very proud to announce that St Teresa's are national swimming champions!! Last Saturday, our medley and freestyle teams competed in the English Schools Swimming Association Finals. All the girls swam superbly beating extremely stiff competition. I am delighted to announce that the freestyle team were placed first in the country and our medley team were placed fifth in the country. A remarkable achievement and we are immensely proud of them! Huge thanks must go to Mr Smart from Guildford City Swim Club, Mrs Farrier, Mrs Pearson, Mrs Rowcliffe, Miss Roberts and Miss Rippington who coached the girls and played a key role in helping them reach this remarkable level.

Year 3—Mono Printing Year 3 made mono prints of fossils, using a simple design based on observational drawings. They then added further details or combined their images to create a layered, textured representation of a fossil landscape.
Cranmore Ramble On Monday, the Year 5 girls joined the Year 5 boys from Cranmore on their annual ramble. The route started at Bocketts farm and wound its way around Norbury Park and across to Polesden Lacey, before joining up with the North Downs way at Ranmore Common. They walked a total of just under 10 miles.
Year 2—Bee Keeping The girls in Year 2 had a special visitor today: Mike from Maintenance! Mike is a bee keeper and he taught the girls so many new facts to add to their 'Wriggle and Crawl' topic knowledge. The girls got to handle artefacts used in bee keeping, as well as taste Mike's honey!
Gardening Club Green Fingers Harlow grew a basil plant from seed in Gardening Club—look how it has grown? Very impressive!
Year 4—Mountains Year 4 have been continuing to scale the great heights of the mountains of the world, first exploring how fold mountains are created, using towels to create a model. They then learnt about how contour lines are used on maps and create their own models.
Year 3—Madame Pamplemousse's Incredible Edibles The girls have thoroughly enjoyed reading Madame Pamplemousse and Her Incredible Edibles and had a lot of fun creating a label for a made-up ‘edible’. They had to use expanded noun phrases to include unusual adjectives and some prepositions to create some very strange sounding ingredients that even Madame Pamplemousse would be proud of!

This Week
It was a joy this week for the Chaplaincy Team, together with those girls who have recently received their First Holy Communion, to represent the school at the annual Good Shepherd Service at Worth Abbey. Each year, all the Catholic schools in the Diocese join together, with Bishop Richard, for a celebration of Catholic education. It was a wonderful occasion with music, dance and reflection. The theme this year was the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We so often refer to loving someone ’with all our heart!’ If this is the case, then how much more love must the heart of Jesus hold as he embraces every single one of us in his loving arms. Every school presented an image of the Sacred Heart to the Bishop as part of the celebration. We enjoyed a brief tour of the Abbey and then enjoyed a picnic in the beautiful summer sun along with all the other schools. What a fantastic day!

Even thought she is not completely settled into her new home; she is coping well and will be very happy soon. On Friday all of the horses had a relaxing bath because of the sweltering heat, they enjoyed their bath time! The pony of the week this week is… Primrose, the new pony! ~ Libby C
